To my close relative, the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Menachem Mendel Shmuel (1),

Greetings and blessings,

I have received your letter of 5 Elul, with what it contained — the manuscript of a letter from the Tzaddik*, Rabbi Hillel of Paritch*, and another from the Rebbe Rashab*. I thank you very much for this gift. We had photocopies of them here, but it is clear that this is in no way comparable (2).

Since you have taken this initiative, you will not fail, if you possess or have access to manuscripts from your father or, more broadly, from family members, or letters, to forward them to me. I thank you in advance, from the depths of my heart.

In accordance with your request, I will mention the names of those for whom you seek a blessing at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. No doubt you will strengthen your bond by maintaining the practices he instituted, by following the path he charted for us. This is in addition to the three studies that concern everyone. These pertain to Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya*, and are well known. And "to whoever adds (3), it is added (4)."

Reiterating once again my thanks for your mailing and extending my blessing that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

P.S.: I observe in your letter that you are also a descendant of the great Rav of Drivin (5). I would like to know whether his descendants are indeed publishing the manuscripts he left behind (6). I thank you for providing all details on this matter.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מיום ה' אלול עם המוסגר בו כי"ק אגרות הקדש של הרה"צ הרה"ח כו' הר"ה מפאריטש ושל כ"ק אדמו"ר (מוהרש"ב) נ"ע, ות"ח ת"ח על תשורתו זו; אשר אף שישנם כאן פוטוגרפיא אבל מובן שאינו בדומה כלל וכלל, ובודאי כיון שנתעורר בהנ"ל הנה אם ימצא ת"י או ברשותו מביכלעך חסידות של אביו ז"ל או בכלל מבני המשפחה או מאגרות הקדש וכנ"ל, לא ימנע הטוב ממני ותודתי מקול"ע נתונה בזה מראש.

כבקשתו יזכירו את כל אלה שכותב אודותם בהפ"נ על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ובודאי יחזק ההתקשרות ע"י שמירת תקנותיו והליכה בדרכיו אשר הורנו, נוסף על שלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש בחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים וכל המוסיף מוסיפין לו.
