To the directors of the Talmud Torah* of Sanhedriya*, may Hashem grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter from the beginning of Elul, in which you describe the difficult situation of your Talmud Torah. You yourselves are surely also aware of the no less difficult situation of the Chabad* schools, including those in the Holy Land.

You know the teaching of our Sages* regarding the verse: "If you lend money to the poor who is near you." Despite this, it is said: "I am a companion to all who fear You." I enclose a prepaid shipping voucher as a symbolic contribution toward the expenses of your Talmud Torah.

May Hashem grant that you experience success, that you raise a generation that fears Hashem and is upright, through "the candle that is a mitzvah* and the Torah* that is a light," as well as through the luminaire of the Torah. All who see these children will recognize in them a generation blessed by Hashem.

Through the vessel and channel of love of one's fellow, you will spread the love of Hashem, the clarity of the Torah and its mitzvos*, among the sons and daughters of Israel. Your influence will continue to grow, as will the study that leads to knowledge of Hashem.

Attachment to the Tree of Life, in the words of the Raya Mehemna* in the Zohar*, volume 3, page 126b, will add vitality, light, and knowledge to daily life. And these values will develop ever more, until the promise is fulfilled that "one will not teach the other, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of Hashem."

I extend my respects, my blessing for success in your sacred mission, for learning the Torah in its entirety — its revealed and hidden dimensions — with pure fear of Hashem, and that you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year.

במענה על מכתבם מתחלת אלול, בו כותבים על המצב הדחוק של הת"ת וכו'.

ובודאי ידוע גם להם המצב הדחוק של מוסדות חינוך חב"ד וגם אלו הנמצאים באה"ק ת"ו, וכבר ידועה הוראת רז"ל על הפסוק אם כסף תלוה את העני עמך, ובכל זה הנה חבר אני לכל אשר יראוך וגו' ומוסג"פ סקריפ בתור השתתפות סמלית בהוצאות הת"ת שלהם.

ויה"ר אשר חפץ ד' בידם יצליח לחנך דור יראים ושלמים בנר מצוה תורה אור ומאור שבתורה אשר כל רואיהם יכירם כי זרע ברך ה' המה, המחדירים ע"י הכלי והצנור של אהבת ישראל את אהבת ד' ואור התורה ומצותי' בתוככי בני ובנות ישראל בהשפעה ההולכת וגדלה ולימוד הדעת את ה'. והתקשרות באילנא דחיי כלשון רע"מ בזהר חלק ג' קכ"ו ע"ב תוסיף חיים אורה ודעת בחיי היום יומים הלוך והוסיף עד שיקוים היעוד ולא ילמדו איש את רעהו ומלאה הארץ דיעה את ה'.

בכבו' ובברכת הצלחה בעבודתם בקדש ללמד תורה שלימה הנגלה והנסתר ביראת שמים טהורה, ובברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה.
