To the Rav, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Yisrael Noach (Rav I. N. Belinitski, of Brunoy, in the Paris region),

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter, with the list of stories pertaining to the Rebbe Maharash*, whose merit protects us. I thank you very much for this list, and no doubt you will send additional ones in the future. The words and deeds of the righteous are eternal and produce their effect.

You know how much my father-in-law, the Rebbe [the Frierdiker Rebbe*], whose merit protects us, valued these testimonies. He would ask that they be committed to writing and would insist upon this, on the condition that the writing be precise, that all the details be properly indicated, and above all that one specify who is reporting them and to what extent that person is reliable.

I enclose a copy of my letter addressed to all on the occasion of this Rosh Hashanah*. No doubt you will make use of its content in the appropriate manner.

With my blessing,

Due to the sanctity of the festival (this letter is written during Chol HaMoed Sukkos*), the Rebbe shlita* does not sign this letter, and I do so in his stead,
