Blessings and greetings,

I received your letter with satisfaction, although with a slight delay. I was pleased to learn that you are strengthening your activities through various means among the students of the school.

You tell me that you interrupted this activity for a brief period. I am confident, however, that you have resumed it with renewed strength and increased enthusiasm, in keeping with the needs of the moment, which are ever more pressing.

It is quite clear that I am not referring solely to your work among the students, but at least as much to your own development, with the proper effort.

You know the explanation that Chassidus* gives regarding the verse that defines a person as "one who advances." This is precisely the indication that he is truly alive. He must, from day to day, grow and develop.

One can verify in practice that everything depends solely on a person's will. One always has the ability to improve one's situation today compared to what it was yesterday. And so it continues from one day to the next.

If this is true for everyone, how much more so for the younger generation, whose enthusiasm has not yet been dulled and remains fresh, which is still capable of taking many initiatives.

Nevertheless, one must be cautious regarding how one uses one's enthusiasm and strength, as well as the areas of this use — particularly in places and on matters that present light and darkness in conjunction. One should then consult those who are not directly involved, who can offer an opinion free from the corruption of self-interest or personal considerations. Through them, one can determine what should be done.

Likewise, one's outlook on life must be based on the Torah*, permeated by a spirit of fear of Hashem. In this way, one is often instinctively able to distinguish the right path from what leads one astray, even if one is unable to explain it logically.

May Hashem grant each and every one of you, in this year that has just begun, the merit of knowing success in all that has been said. You will set a good example and guide others.

ברכה ושלום!

בנועם קבלתי מכתבן, אף כי באיחור זמן קצת, ונעם לי לקרות בו אשר חזקו את עבודתן עם תלמידות בית הספר על ידי פעולות שונות.

ותקותי אשר אף שכותבות שהפסיקו לזמן קצר עבודתן זו, כבר התחילו בה מחדש, ובכחות חדשים ובתוספת מרץ - מתאים לדרישת השעה ההולכת וגדלה,

ומובן ופשוט שכוונתי בזה לא רק לפעולותיהן עם התלמידות הנ"ל, אלא ובמדה לא פחותה מזו גם עם עצמן בעבודה מתאמת.

וכבר ידוע פירוש תורת החסידות בלשון הכתוב הקורא לאדם מהלך - כי זהו מתפקידו וסימן לחיות אשר בו, כי מיום הולדו מתגדל ומתפתח.

ורואים במוחש אשר אין הדבר תלוי אלא ברצונו של האדם, כי תמיד היכולת ביד האדם להוסיף במעמדו ומצבו אתמול, וכן מיום ליום.

ואם בכל בני אדם הדברים אמורים עאכו"כ בדור הצעיר, אשר מרצו לא נוצל עדיין ותוסס בו וגם היזמה שלו רבה יותר.

אלא שצריך זהירות בכיוון ובהענינים בם ישתמשו בהמרץ והכחות וברט במקומות ובענינים אשר אור וחושך משמשים בערבוביא, ומוכרחת שאלה ובירור אצל נשים העומדים "מן הצד" היכולים לשפוט על הענינים מבלי שוחד של אהבת עצמו ופניות עצמו.

גם מוכרחת השקפת החיים להיות מבודדת בתורה וחדורה רוח יראת שמים, אשר אז הנה לפעמים תכופות באופן אינסטיקטיבי מרגישים ומבחינים בין דרך הישרה והנטי' ממנה, אף אם אפילו אין יכולים להסביר זה בשכל.

והשי"ת יזכן, את כל אחת מהן, בשנה שנכנסו בה זה עתה, להצליח בכל האמור לעיל, ולשמש דוגמא חי' ומורה דרך גם לאחרים.
