Igrot Kodesh · Letter 385 — Encouraging Dissemination of Chassidus

To my close relative, the distinguished chassid who fears Hashem,

I greet and bless you,

I received your letter and, even before it reached me, I had already inquired of your sister and brother-in-law about how you were doing and your situation. I was happy to read your letter and to learn that all is well materially and spiritually, and that you are now disseminating Chassidut* — particularly, and Torah*, mitzvot* and the fear of Hashem in general.

You wished to receive publications, and I therefore arranged for the following to be sent to you in a separate package: a Sefer HaMaamarim*, a Sefer HaSichot*, the booklet published on the occasion of 12 Tammuz* and 'Conversations with the Young.'

All of this has been covered by the Keren HaMatzot* of Merkaz L'Inyanei Chinuch*, since you intend to make them available to as many people as possible — until you find a local means of financing the books sent to you. Indeed, the resources of Keren HaMatzot are very limited and its activities are directed primarily toward refugees, who have no means of payment.

בנוגע להנדפסים שמבקש, הנה צויתי לשלוח ע"ש בחבילה בפ"ע ספר המאמרים ס' השיחות קונ' י"ב תמוז ושמועסן. לע"ע נשלח ע"ח קרן המצות של המל"ח, כיון שזהו לזכות בהם את הרבים, עד שיסדר במקומו שישלמו בעד הנדפסים הנשלחים אליהם. כי קופת קרן המצות מוגבלת במאד, ובשורה ראשונה הם מחנות האיזורים וכיו"ב שאין ביכלתם כלל לשלם...
