To my close relative, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,
I received joyous news. Indeed, there was recently a Chassidic gathering* in which you participated. In the course of it, you delivered a Chassidic discourse* and the participants were very satisfied.
May Hashem grant that this be a good beginning. You will begin to make use of your abilities and the knowledge you accumulated at the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* also for the benefit of others. You know what the Alter Rebbe* says in Iggeres HaKodesh*, chapter 16, based on the tractate Nedarim 80b. Admittedly, that text refers to material tzedakah*, but the same applies to spiritual tzedakah* (the act of placing one's knowledge at the disposal of others) — especially in the present era.
There would surely be opportunities to do so (to give this spiritual tzedakah*) in the institutions affiliated with Chabad* organizations. You will be able to use your abilities in an ever-increasing manner. I would be pleased to receive good tidings from you in this regard.
May Hashem grant that this be as soon as possible, for time that is lost can never be recovered.

שלום וברכה!
קבלתי ידיעה משמחת אשר מלפני זמן היתה התוועדות בהשתתפותו וחזר מאמר דא"ח והשומעים היו שבעי רצון.
ויה"ר שתהי' זה התחלה טובה שיתחיל לנצל כשרונותיו והידיעות שרכש בהיותו בתומכי תמימים וכו' גם לתועלת הזולת, אשר אם בכל המקומות ובכל הזמנים הענין מוכרח הי', וכמאמר רבי עקיבא ואהבת לרעך כמוך זה כלל גדול בתורה, [ו]כבר ידוע מ"ש רבנו הזקן באגה"ק סי' ט"ז ע"פ הש"ס נדרים פ' ע"ב בהנוגע לצדקה גשמית וה"ה לצדקה רוחנית, במכש"כ עתה.
ובודאי ישנם במוסדות ארגוני חב"ד כמה הזדמנויות שנזקקים לכגון דא ואפשריות לנצל הכשרונות במדה ההולכת וגדלה, וינעם לי לקבל ממנו בשו"ט בזה, ויה"ר שיהי' בהקדם כיון שהזמן היא אבדה שאינה חוזרת...
