To the distinguished chassid who fears Hashem,

Rav C. M. Kalmenson,

I greet and bless you,

You surely know by now that we have been publishing our works through Rav D. Brawman*. However, this activity has experienced delays, the principal reasons for which appear to be the impossibility of borrowing funds locally and the difficulty of shipping the books after printing.

Yesterday I was with my father-in-law, the Rebbe* shlita*, and he indicated to me that, to the extent you can obtain authorization — even temporary — to travel there, it would be good for you to make this journey as soon as possible, provided it does not in any way interfere with your trip to Ireland*.

You will take with you one thousand shekels*, which I have asked Rav N. Nemanov to draw for you from our fund. Then, together with Rav D. B., you will try to accelerate the process as much as possible.

For greater speed, Rav D. B. may choose a flexible binding, such as that of Sifraynu*. You will also try to activate the shipment of books through those traveling to France, and from there to here, or even arriving here directly. I defer to your judgment in this matter.

We also have the remainder of the sum corresponding to these publications, but my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita, does not wish more than the amount I indicated to be transferred at one time. Rav N. N. and Rav B. T. Sh. T.* can tell you more about our publications.

Please inform me as soon as possible of what you have done in this matter. It goes without saying that I will cover from here all expenses that this activity will entail.

בטח ידוע לו זה מכבר ע"ד התעסקותנו בהדפסה ע"י הוו"ח וכו' מהור"ד שי' בראוומאן והנה מתעכבים הענינים שם וכנראה אשר מהסיבות העקריות להעיכוב הוא שאי [אפשר] ללוות האמצעים שם על אתר וכן הקושי בהובלת הספרים הנדפסים משם.

בהיותי אמש בהיכל כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שליט"א אמר לי אשר מהנכון כיוון שכבודו יוכל ע"י השתדלות לקבל רשיון עכ"פ טראנזיט דרך שם שאם אין בזה סתירה כלל לנסיעתו לאירלנד, שיסע לשם בהקדם ויקח אתו אלף תרמכן (ובקשתי מהרר"נ שי' נעמענאוו שיתנם לו מהשייך אלינו) וביחד עם הרד"ב ימהרו הענינים עד כמה שאפשר. וכדי למהר יוכל הרד"ב לכרוך הספרים לא בכריכה קשה כ"א בכריכת נייר ע"ד זו של ספרנו, וישתדלו ג"כ למהר בהובלת הספרים משם, ע"י נוסעים לצרפת ומשם לכאן או ישר משם לכאן ואל בינתם אשען בזה.

יש גם שאר הסכום הנצרך לכל ההדפסה אבל אין ברצון כ"ק מו"ח אד"ש שיקח בב"א יותר מהנ"ל, יותר פרטים ע"ד מצב הדפסתנו יוכל לדעת מהרנ"נ או מהרב"צ ש"ט.

ומטובו להודיעני תומ"י מהתעסקותו בכהנ"ל, ופשיטא שכל ההוצאות הכרוכות בזה עלי לסלק בפה,
