Greetings and blessings,
I have duly received your letter of 19 Marcheshvan.
You are considering a move. This possibility is, in theory, entirely judicious. Nevertheless, as far as you are concerned:
A) Your wife must fully accept your new home, without being subjected to any pressure in this regard.
B) Moreover, the quality of the education your children receive must in no way be compromised.
C) For several hours each day, you are not present at home, while your wife must remain there. There must therefore be relatives or friends in close proximity to her.
It seems to me that, as far as you are concerned, all of these conditions are not met.
It would be good for your letters to be compared with those of other people, so that you may see clearly how baseless your bitterness is. This bitterness causes your discouragement and no doubt diminishes your enthusiasm in the service of Hashem.
You must draw a lesson from this for the service of Hashem in the future. If the evil inclination presents itself once more and threatens you by asking how you are fulfilling your obligation, you should pay no attention to its arguments. You should devote your time and energy to your sacred mission — that of drawing the hearts of the children of Yisrael close to our Father in Heaven. You will do so precisely with joy.

ובמש"כ סברה לעבור לדור ל... - הנה, מצ"ע, סברה נכונה היא במאד. אבל בנדו"ד א) דירה חדשה - צ"ל בהסכמתה המלאה ומבלי כפי' של האשה תי'. ב) א"צ לנגוע בטיב החינוך של הילדים שי'. ג) כיון שכמה שעות ביום אינו בביתו וז' תי' מוכרחת להשאר בית - צ"ל קרובי' או ידידותי' בסמיכות מקום לדירתם. וכמדומה שבהנוגע אליו - כל תנאים אלו אינם במציאות.
כדאי שישווה מכתביו מ... ויראה בעליל עד כמה המ"ש שלו אינה מיוסדת ופועלת נמיכת רוח, ובטח גם חסרון חיות בעבוה"ק. ומזה ילמוד על להבא שבאם יבוא היצה"ר עוה"פ ויפחידו איך יצא ידי חובתו וכו' וכו' - גם לא ישים לב אפילו לטו"מ עמו, וינצל זמנו ומרצו בעבודתו בקדש קירוב לב בנ"י, לאבינו שבשמים, ומתוך שמחה דוקא. וכנ"ל.
