Blessings and greetings (this letter is addressed to a woman),
I am responding to your letter of 10/11.
In accordance with your request, your name will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, so that the desire of your heart be fulfilled (that of having a child).
Having children is one of the most important mitzvos* that Hashem entrusted to man. One must therefore place full trust in the Giver of the Torah*. He will know how to grant His help, so that you may fulfill the mitzvah* as He desires.
Obviously, one must also employ the ways of nature and follow the advice of a specialist physician in this matter. Simultaneously, one must have the conviction that Hashem, Who "heals all flesh and performs wonders," will grant His help, so that at a fruitful moment, when the time is right, you will be able to announce good tidings regarding all of this.
No doubt you participate in the activities of the Chabad* women of your city, in the appropriate manner. It is in this way that one fulfills the will of our holy master, whose merit protects us, and that one multiplies the heavenly blessings.
With my blessing,
For the Rebbe shlita*,
the secretary,
