12 Kislev 5716

Brooklyn

To the association of Chabad* women and girls,

Paris chapter, may Hashem grant you long life,

Blessings and greetings,

I have duly received your letter of 5 Kislev, which followed a long silence that is in no way explained in what you write me. May Hashem grant that in the future you write me more often, especially to announce good tidings.

I took note, with satisfaction, of what you accomplished during this summer and, above all, of the fact that you did not limit yourselves to your own circle. You intervened to broaden your activity, to reach wider horizons, and to attract other women.

You will surely continue your activity in this direction. You will have an increasing number of women who will receive your influence, particularly among the younger ones who have just established their homes, so that they do so in the manner befitting Jewish women at the present time and, when the time comes, for the generations to follow.

I was particularly pleased to see that you intended to establish contact with the parents of students at the Talmud Torah* or the private classes. This is doubly important — both for the students and for the parents, who can thereby become familiar with what is being taught to their children and, in this way, strengthen the education they provide them. I have asked the Paris bureau to grant you a subsidy of fifteen thousand francs for this activity.

It would be good to publish, more frequently, a report of your activities in the newspapers. This is how you will attract new members and encourage those who are already active.

With my blessing for good tidings regarding all of this,

For the Rebbe shlita*,

the secretary,
