Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter from this Wednesday, which I received with delay. You mention the writing of a Sefer Torah*, its completion, and its introduction into the synagogue.

I am surprised that you ask me about this, for a detailed letter (see Igros Kodesh of the Frierdiker Rebbe*, Vol. 6, Letter #1212) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, has been published for many years. This appears, it seems to me, in the third collection of his letters. Is it possible that you do not study, or at the very least, do not read the writings of our masters that are published? If you yourself do not do so, how will the members of your community (of which the recipient of this letter is presumably the Rav) and your disciples in general do so? All of this is surprising.

I enclose our latest publications. You will surely make their content accessible to the broadest public. The merit of the community depends on you.

I send you my blessing that you begin to fulfill your most essential and profound mission, which is also that of all men who have had the merit of being students of Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*, and which consists of disseminating the wellsprings (of Chassidus*) to the outside.

במענה על מכתבו מיום הרביעי שנתקבל באיחור זמן. במה שכותב אודות ס"ת כתיבתה וסיומה והכנסתה לבית הכנסת.

הנה לפלא שאלתו בזה, בה בשעה שזה כמה שנים שנדפס מכתב מפורט מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע (כמדומה בקובץ מכתבים השלישי), והאומנם אינו לומד או עכ"פ קורא עניני נשיאנו המוצאים לאור, ואם הוא אינו עושה כן, הרי מה יעשו בני עדתו ומושפעיו בכלל, אתמהה.

מוסג"פ מה שהו"ל בזמן האחרון, ובודאי יזכה בתוכנם גם את הרבים וזכות הרבים תלוי בו.
