Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter, in which you inform me of the state of health of your wife.

It appears that her nervousness is, to a large extent, responsible for this situation. This manifests partly toward herself and partly toward those around her. Nevertheless, one must also address what is of nervous origin, and for this it would be good to consult a general practitioner and, additionally, a specialist in this field. You will provide him with the results of the tests that have been done until now and ask for his opinion.

I have already written to several Chassidim* to tell them that if they would make the effort, and if over time they would also accustom themselves to writing with good news, they would undoubtedly sometimes be spared unfortunate situations whose sole purpose is to prompt them to write letters.

Indeed, who knows? Perhaps this situation has the sole purpose that two Jews come into contact once more, that they feel close to one another, which arouses pleasure in the most exalted celestial spheres, as explained in the Likkutei Torah*, in the discourse "Enlist from among you," and in the Derech Mitzvosecha*, in the mitzvah* of loving one's fellow.

I am surprised that in this letter you say nothing about your other concerns of a communal nature, given that you had the merit of being one of the students of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*. Yet of each of these students it is said that he must be "a candle to illuminate." Despite this, since your last letter, the days of Tishrei* have passed. Now there are those of Kislev*. It is unnecessary to say more, so obvious is this.

במענה על מכתבו, בו כותב אודות מצב בריאות זוגתו תחי'.

הנה כנראה שחלק גדול בזה הם הניערווין, במקצת של עצמה ובמקצת של האישים הסובבים אותה, וכיון שגם מדבר התלוי בניערווין צריך להפטר, כדאי לבקש רופא כללי ומומחה גם בזה ויודיע לו תוצאות כל הבדיקות שעשו עד עתה ולשאול חוות דעתו.

וכבר כתבתי לאחדים מאנ"ש שאם היו מתאמצים ובמשך הזמן מתרגלים לכתוב מכתבים בבשורות טובות, הרי בטח שמזמן לזמן היו פוטרים אותם מכמה ענינים משונים שהמסובב מהם הוא כתיבת מכתב, כי הרי אין אתנו יודע עד מה, ואפשר כל הענין הוא בשביל ששני יהודים יבואו בקישור עוד הפעם, ובאופן של קירוב הלבבות, ענין הגורם נחת רוח למעלה מעלה, וכמובן ממה שנתבאר בלקו"ת ד"ה החלצו ובדרך מצותיך, מצות אהבת ישראל וכו'.

לפלא שבמכתבו זה אינו מזכיר דבר ע"ד ענינים הכללים בה בשעה שזכה להיות בכותלי תומכי תמימים, ועל כל אחד מהם אמרו שצריך להיות נר להאיר, ובפרט שמעת מכתבו האחרון היו ימי תשרי, ועתה גם ימי חדש כסלו וכו', והאריכות בדבר הפשוט אך למותר.
