Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of the conclusion of Shabbos*, in which you ask me how to conduct oneself in the spirit of Chabad*.

It is, of course, difficult to explain this within the framework of a letter, all the more so since several talks of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, explaining all of this, are found in the pamphlets and the Likkutei Dibburim* that have been printed and are in the possession of several Chassidim* in the holy city of Yerushalayim*.

The essential point is the following: each day — and, of course, each Shabbos* — one should study Chassidus*, day and night, in a fixed manner, both in terms of time and in terms of intent. The length of this study is not the same for everyone; each person sets it according to his level and his own assessment.

Please consult, on this subject, the elder Chassidim* who are in your area, and they will guide you. May Hashem* grant that this study be fruitful and that there be fulfilled in this case the promise that "great is study which leads to action."

במענה על מכתבו ממוצש"ק, בו שואל אודות סדר בהנוגע להנהגה בדרך חב"ד.

ומובן שקשה לפרש זה במכתב, ובפרט שענינים אלו מבוארים בכמה מהשיחות הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע בקונטרסים ובלקו"ד הנדפסים, ונמצאים הם אצל כמה מאנ"ש בירושלים עיה"ק ת"ו, ונקודה העיקרית אשר בכל יום, ואצ"ל ביום הש"ק תהי' קביעות בזמן וקביעות בנפש ללימוד תורת החסידות הן ביום והן בלילה, אף שאורך זמן זה לא הכל שוים בו, וכאו"א לפום שיעורא דילי' ולפום מה דמשער בלבי', ויתייעץ בזה עם זקני אנ"ש הנמצאים על אתר והם יורוהו, והשי"ת יזכהו שיצליח בלימודו האמור, ויקוים גם בזה גדול תלמוד שמביא לידי מעשה.
