To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, Rav Eliezer,

Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter in due time and have just received the two copies of the book Mareh Yaakov*. I thank you for them. No doubt you will do the same in the future for everything you publish. Indeed, the library here serves a great number of people.

I read with pleasure what you say about the author of this book, who was very attached to Chassidus*, who respected and honored it greatly — spiritually and financially. I wish to deduce from this formulation that you yourself appreciate such a perspective. The Mishnah* says that "the act is essential and not the theory." This appreciation will therefore, without a doubt, have an impact on your daily existence, all the more so since, as you specify, you disseminate Torah* and awe of Heaven among young and old in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt — the land "upon which the eyes of Hashem* are always directed, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year."

Consequently, every addition you make for yourself — since our Sages* say that one ascends in matters of holiness*, which is a commandment applying to each individual — will be multiplied many times over, as it affects also all those who receive your influence.

May Hashem* grant you success in making this addition as quickly as possible and with the greatest determination. And may there be fulfilled in you the blessing that "to whoever adds (efforts), more is added (in blessings)."

בעתו קבלתי מכתבו, ועתה גם הספר מראה יעקב ב' טופסים, ות"ח. ובטח ינהג כזה גם בנוגע להבא בענינים היו"ל על ידו, כיון שהספרי' דכאן תועלת לרבים בה.

נעם לי לקרות במכתבו מ"ש אודות מחבר ספר שהי' אדוק בחסידות והעריץ וכבד מאד בנפשו ומאודו כו', כי רוצה אני ללמוד בכתיבתו זו שיחס כזה מוצא הד בנפשו, וכיון שפסק המשנה לא המדרש עיקר אלא המעשה, בודאי פועל ההד בחייו היום יומם, ובפרט שכפי כתבו מרביץ הוא תורה ויר"ש לצעירים ולזקנים ובאה"ק ת"ו, ארץ אשר עיני ה"א בה מראשית שנה ועד אחרית שנה, שמזה מובן שכל הוספה בהנוגע לעצמו (והרי מרז"ל דמעלין בקדש על כל אחד ואחד מישראל אמור הוא, מעלין ציווי לעתיד), הוספה זו נכפלת כמה פעמים ככה כי עושה פעולה בכל אחד מהמושפעים, ויצליחו השי"ת להוסיף בהקדם וביתר שאת, ותקוים בו הברכה כל המוסיף מוסיפין לו.
