To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, Rav Shmuel Abba,
Greetings and blessings,
You discuss Psalm 107, regarding the matter of predicting the future.
Please carefully study the explanation given by the Baal Shem Tov*, which is printed in various places. One must know the matters that pertain to each person and that it is essential to know in one's daily life in order to fulfill one's mission and the purpose of one's creation — that is, the service of the Creator, as the Mishnah* specifies (Tractate Kiddushin* 82a) — but not the future.
It is stated in this regard: "The hidden things are for Hashem* our Elokim*, and the revealed things are for us and for our children, in order to fulfill all the words of this Torah*."

יעויין היטב בפי' הבעש"ט ע"ז (נדפס בכ"מ) - שהענינים נוגעים ומוכרחים לכאו"א מאתנו בחייו היום יומים בכדי למלאות תפקידו ותכלית בריאתו, ז.א. לשמש את קונו - כפסק המשנה, משא"כ העתידות. והרי כבר נאמר: הנסתרות לה"א והנגלות לנו ולבנינו לעשות את כל דברי התורה הזאת .
