Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter of 15 Teves*, together with the request for a blessing, which will be read, at an auspicious moment, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us. I thank you for informing me of good news — the increase in the number of students. They are more numerous quantitatively and, no doubt, qualitatively as well. May Hashem therefore grant that they multiply even further in both dimensions, for our Sages say: "One ascends in matters of holiness." And a ruling of our holy Torah* is also a strength granted to put it into practice, as various texts explain.

You refer to students who exerted a negative influence on the others and who had to be transferred. You do not know what attitude to adopt toward them in the future, and you enumerate the various possibilities in one direction or the other (leniency or severity).

In such a case, the solution depends on the conditions of the locale, the individuals, and also the period — all of which can change. You should therefore seek counsel on the spot from all those who possess a good knowledge of these matters. Hashem will grant you success, and you will make the decision that will enable the success and development of the school.

P.S.: You have no doubt established a specific program for the students during the auspicious days of the month of Kislev*. Similarly, you should also make preparations for the Hilloula* (of the Frierdiker Rebbe*) of the 10th of Shevat*, which is approaching.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבם מט"ו טבת עם הפ"נ שיקרא בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ות"ח על הבשו"ט שנתרבה מספר התלמידים, ויה"ר כשם שנתרבו בכמות ובטח גם באיכות, הנה יתרבה עוד יותר הן באיכות והן בכמות, וכפסק רז"ל דמעלין בקדש ואשר פסק תורתנו הק' הוא גם נתינת כח וכמבואר בכמה מקומות.

ובמ"ש אודות תלמידים אשר השפעתם אינה טובה כו' על שאר התלמידים, שלכן הוצרכו לשלחם למקום אחר וכו', וספק אצלם איך להתנהג בהם מכאן ולהבא, ומפרטים הענינים לחיוב ולשלילה.

הנה בכגון דא ידועה ההוראה שהכל לפי תנאי המקום והאישים וגם הזמן, כיון שעלול לשינוים, ולכן עליהם להתייעץ על אתר כל אלו היודעים בטיב הדברים, והשי"ת יצליחם להחליט להצלחת המוסד ולהתפתחותו.
