and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

I am surprised not to have heard from you at all since your letter of the first day of Rosh Chodesh* Kislev*, which is the month of the liberation (of the Alter Rebbe* from the tsarist prisons). In the meantime, a Chassidic farbrengen* was surely organized for the luminous date of the 19th of Kislev*, the festival during which "He redeemed our soul in peace," when "the light and vitality of our souls were granted to us." For this day is the Rosh Hashanah* of the teachings of Chassidus* and the Chassidic ways.

Indeed, these days possess an auspicious character. They enable, in particular, action to disseminate the wellsprings of Chassidus* outward. And it is an established fact that an emissary fulfills the mission entrusted to him. Such is also the mission of the soul (an emissary of Hashem), which descends to this world below so that a dwelling place may be built for Hashem in this world, as also explained in the Likkutei Torah*, at the beginning of Parshas* Vayikra*. No doubt you will fill in all of this (by providing the necessary details) at the next opportunity.

You mention your class and the work you are doing there. It is, obviously, difficult to say what should be done down to the smallest detail when one is at a distance. Nevertheless, it is clear that the mission entrusted to every Chassid* in Australia, without any exception, consists of disseminating Chassidus*, its customs and practices. Of course, one of the fundamental points in this regard is the development, quantitative and qualitative, of the Yeshivah*.

It is therefore perfectly clear that you have a share in this mission. Everything therefore depends on the sincere reflection you will have on this matter, which will also be for your personal good and that of all the members of your family. And nothing can stand in the way of the will.

שלום וברכה!

לפלא שמאז מכתבו אדר"ח כסלו הוא חדש הגאולה אין ממנו כל ידיעות, ובפרט וביחוד שהרי בינתים התועדו בודאי ביום הבהיר י"ט כסלו, החג אשר פדה בשלום נפשנו ואור וחיות נפשנו ניתן לנו שהוא ראש השנה לתורת החסידות ולדרכי החסידות, והימים ימי סגולה לפעול בהפצת המעינות חוצה ביחוד וחזקה שליח עושה שליחותו, שזהו ענינה של כל נשמה היורדת למטה לעשות לו ית' דירה בתחתונים, וכמובן ג"כ ממ"ש בלקו"ת פ' ויקרא בתחלתו, ובודאי ימלא בהזדמנות הבאה.

במ"ש אודות הכתה ואופן פעולתו בה, הנה מובן שבריחוק מקום קשה להורות על פרטיו ופרטי פרטים, אבל ברור הדבר ששליחות כאו"א מאנ"ש - אין יוצא, באוסטרליא, הוא להפיץ שם ורת החסידות הדרכותי' ומנהגי', ומובן שאחד הדברים העיקרים בזה הוא התפתחות הישיבה בכמות ובאיכות, שמכל זה מובן וגם פשוט שגם עליו חלק מהעבודה בזה, ואין הדבר תלוי אלא להתבונן אליבא דנפשי' למצוא אופן היותר מועיל לתועלת העבודה בהנ"ל ובד"מ גם לתועלת הפרטי שלו ושל כל ב"ב שיחיו, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון.
