To the leaders of Kfar Chabad*,

may Hashem* grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

A) I have duly received your reports of 4, 10, and 13 Shevat (of the meetings of the municipal committee of Kfar Chabad*). I await the continuation of good tidings regarding everything you write to me about.

B) I express my surprise. During the past years (see letter no. 4132), you used to approach us here in order to obtain, from the Ezras Torah association, aid for several residents of the Kfar*. You sought, in this matter, the intervention of my secretariat. The means of this association are limited, and one must therefore act as quickly as possible in this matter. Now, for the time being, I have received no information on this subject.

May Hashem* grant that there be fulfilled for each person the well-known phrase of the prayer: "May Your people, the House of Israel, not need to derive their sustenance from other people, nor even from other nations."

C) I warmly thank all those who made efforts for the success of the students' gathering (see letters no. 4073 and 4078) from the schools of the Lubavitch network, on the day of the Hilloula* (10 Shevat) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us.

May Hashem* grant that such efforts be multiplied for the coming days and festivals, on the occasion of which other gatherings will be organized or other initiatives will be taken.

D) On the other hand, I was shocked to discover — and I protest vehemently against — the astonishing attitude of not permitting the girls to gather in the synagogue, even though it was not the time of prayer. Such an attitude is incomprehensible and has no foundation. I am surprised that the committee of the Kfar* permitted such a thing.

In the future, you will surely reflect with due attention on the following saying of the Baal Shem Tov*, which we heard from my father-in-law, the Rebbe*: "Hashem* loves every Jewish man and every Jewish woman far more than parents love their only child born to them in their old age." You must understand what I mean.

I have also written on this subject to the great Rav, the mara d'asra* (Rav Shneur Zalman Garelik, Rav of Kfar Chabad*, see the following letter).

No doubt you will make good use of the days of Purim*, which are approaching, in the manner befitting Kfar Chabad*. May Hashem* grant you success.

מאשר הנני קבלת הפרטי-כל, מד' יו"ד וי"ג שבט, ואחכה להמשך בשו"ט בהענינים אודותם כותבים.

ב) לפלא כי הרי בשנים שעברו פנו לכאן ע"ד עזרה לכמה מתושבי הכפר (מחברת עזרת תורה) ורצו שישתדלו מהמזכירות עד"ז. ומובן שכיון שהאמצעים בקופה הנ"ל מוגבלים, כל הקודם ישובח, ועד הנה לא נתקבלה ידיעה בזה, והלואי יקוים בכ"א ע"פ נוסח התפלה הידוע שלא יצטרכו עמך בית ישראל לפרנסה זל"ז ולא לעם אחר.

ג) ת"ח ת"ח לכל אלו שהשתדלו בהצלחתו של כנוס התלמידים-ות דבתי ספר רשת ליובאוויטש ביום ההילולא של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ויה"ר שיוסיפו בהשתדלויות כאלו בקשר עם הימים והמועדים הבאים לקראתנו המתאימים לכנוס וענינים כגון דא.

ד) לאידך גיסא נבהלתי, ומוחה הנני בזה בכל תוקף נגד הנהגה המוזרה שלא להרשות כנוס תלמידות בתי ספר אלו בבית הכנסת, אף שלא בשעת התפלה, שאין לזה כל מובן ויסוד. ולפלא שועד הכפר הרשה זה. ובטח להבא יתבוננו בעיון היטב בפתגם הבעש"ט ששמענוהו כ"פ מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, שהשי"ת אוהב את כל אחד ואחת מישראל שלא בערך יותר מאשר אהבת הורים לבנם יחידם שנולד להם לעת זקנותם, וד"ל.

כתבתי בנדון זה גם להרה"ג מרא דאתרא...

בטח ינצלו ימי הפורים הבע"ל באופן המתאים לכפר חב"ד. והשי"ת יצליחם.
