Igrot Kodesh · Letter 435 — Seforim Distribution and Shlichus Operations

To my friend, the chassid*, the renowned scholar, Rav David Brawman*[1], may he live long and well.

A) I am surprised to have received no response to my letters of 19 Kislev and 11 Tevet.

B) Received: 620 copies of Sifraynu* vol.4, 616 of Sefer HaSichot*, 604 of Sha'arei Orah*, 450 of Sifraynu* vol.1, 100 of Tanya* — why were Ateret Rosh* and Sha'ar HaEmunah VeHaYichud* not included? Once again: notify me immediately of what is being shipped, BEFORE arrival. Now ship everything not yet received, especially Likkutei Torah* and Torah Or*.

C) I finally received one Likkutei Torah* by post from Rav Shapiro — without customs difficulties[2]. It would be very useful to ship the others by the same method (to the Previous Rebbe*, Rav Chadakov*, Rav Mindel*[3], myself, Merkaz L'Inyanei Chinuch*, Machaneh Israel*, Kehot*).

D) Once again: expedite the Piskei Dinim* and complete the Shulchan Aruch*. It appears one must now inscribe 'Printed in Germany' on the inside of the first page.

E) In the introduction to Likkutei Torah*: the Vilna edition of 5645[4] must be added to the list; and the date for another edition should be 5664[5] (not what was written). The simplest solution is to use a rubber stamp with this text; mark each book at the end of the introduction.

F) Enclosed: the 19 Kislev sichah* outline (with a copy for Rav Mordechai Perlov*), the 24 Tevet fascicle*[6], the Previous Rebbe*'s letter, and the Merkaz L'Inyanei Chinuch* letter. Report what has been done.

G) If Hayom Yom* and the Haggadah* are needed in the refugee camps, one may print and sell them at reduced profit — provided this does not delay the other books. Send only 100 copies of Hayom Yom* here.

א) מכתבי מי"ט כסלו ומי"א טבת בטח קיבל במועדם. ולפלא שלע"ע אין מענה עליהם.

ב) קבלנו ימים אלו: ספרנו ח"ד - תרך. ס' השיחות - תרטז. שערי אורה - תסד.

ספרנו ח"א - תנ. תניא - מאה. ולפלא, שאין כלל מעט"ר ושער האמוה"י. ואכפיל בקשתי להודיע תיכף מה עוד שלח ונמצא עדיין בדרך, ולשלוח ככל האפשרי ממה שלא שלח לע"ע, ובפרט לקו"ת תו"א והנ"ל.

ג) יום ה' העבר נתקבל סו"ס, ע"י הפוסט, לקו"ת אחד מהמשלח הרב שפירא, בלי כל קשוים ושאלות כאן כלל. ונכונה מאד ההשתדלות שישלח הנ"ל, וחבריו כיו"ב, לקו"ת ותו"א וכו' לכ"ק מו"ח אד"ש, להרב חדוקוב, למר מינדל, אלי, למל"ח למחנה ישראל, לקה"ת וד"ל. וכמובן יודיע אלינו למי שלחו.

ד) עוה"פ אזרז בהדפסת הפס"ד וגמר הדפסת השו"ע. וכפי שנתברר עתה צ"ל בשולי השער הראשון של כל הספרים התיבות

ה) בהקדמתי ללקו"ת צריך להוסיף ברשימת הדפסות הלקו"ת: ווילנא - תרמ " ה .

ובשורה הוצאה זו היא שנת תרס " ד .

ובטח היותר קל הוא לעשות חותם (פעטשאט) וז"ל: בתחלת שורה ששית נשמטו התיבות: שם תרמ"ה . בסוף שורה שביעית נשמטו התיבות: שנת תרס"ד . ולהחתימו מתחת להקדמתי.

ו) מוסג"פ ר"ד משיחות יט"כ. ובתנאי שישלח העתקה ממנה להר"ר מרדכי שי' פערלאוו. כן מוסג"פ קונט' לכ"ד טבת. מכ' כ"ק מו"ח אד"ש ומכ' ממחנה ישראל. ובודאי יודיע ממה שעשו בזה.

ז) אם יש צורך בהמחנות, ובמקומות שיש לו קישור עמהם, בלוח "היום יום" וב"הגדה עם לקוטי טעמים ומנהגים" ואם עי"ז לא תתעכב הדפסת שאר הס' - יוכל להדפיסם ולמוכרם בהוספה קטנה על מה שיוציא בהדפסתם, ולכאן לשלוח רק כמאה מ"היום יום".
