Greetings and blessings,
I have unfortunately been informed of unpleasant news regarding your morale. To someone like you, it is surely unnecessary to explain at length how astonishing this situation is. Think, then, about what the Rambam* says at the end of the Laws of the Lulav*, regarding the joy of the service of Hashem!
This teaching is in addition to the halachic* ruling of the Rambam*, the Tur*, and the Shulchan Aruch*, Orach Chaim*, chapter 231, according to which one serves Hashem "in all your ways" — that is, during all twenty-four hours of the day. You can deduce from this how necessary it is to rejoice every day. Moreover, various texts of Chassidus*, the luminaire of the Torah*, explain the precept: "In all your ways, acknowledge Him." And the joy of the mitzvah* is particularly important, as stated in the Torah Or*, page 20b.
Regarding yourself — and even from the perspective of the animal soul* — you surely have not entirely forgotten what your state of health was two or three years ago, the fear you experienced then. A brief reflection is therefore sufficient to observe the Providence, the kindness of Hashem, the visible and tangible good.
How can you diminish the Heavenly capacities (see note 1), Heaven forbid? Now, even when one reveals the blessing here below and receives it, one must also rejoice — not intellectually, without connection to concrete action and the feeling of the heart, but truly, in the most literal sense.
It is in this way that what the holy Zohar* states is fully realized, Volume 2, page 184b: "The lower world and the person, when he has a luminous countenance here below, receive the Heavenly illumination. The joy of a person draws upon him the Heavenly joy."
Confirming what is self-evident, all doctors agree that a person's joy strengthens his physical and spiritual health. May Hashem grant that you strengthen your study of the Torah* in general, as it is said: "The precepts of Hashem are upright, they gladden the heart" (see note 2), and that of Chassidus* in particular. You will also influence your fellow in this direction.
In this way, it will be easier for you to experience joy in your home, to the point of being able to recite a blessing on this subject, according to the halachah* (see note 3).
With my blessing for good news of all this,
Notes
(1) Literally, "making the Hand of Hashem shorter."
(2) The study of the Torah* brings joy.
(3) The marriage blessing: "Joy is in his dwelling."
