Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter from Isru Chag* of the time of the Giving of our Torah* (see note 1), which followed a silence. It was filled with dissatisfaction regarding the way you earn your livelihood and your state of health.

This situation can perhaps be partially explained by the fact that you have not increased — or have even decreased — the time set aside for the study of our Torah*, Torah of life, which constitutes the channel and the vessels for arousing and receiving the blessings of Hashem in all needs — not only spiritual but also material (see note 2).

Thus it is said: "If you walk in My statutes," and Rashi* explains: "By exerting yourselves in Torah*." It is then that "I will give your rains" and all the blessings mentioned in the Parashah*.

May Hashem grant that you make an addition in this regard, as though you had already received the blessings of Hashem in the areas you mention. It is certain that the Creator of the world will keep His promise, stated in this verse.

לאחרי שתיקתו נתקבל מכתבו מא"ח זמן מתן תורתנו, חדור בהעדר שביעת רצון ממצב פרנסה בריאות כו', ואפשר קצת ביאור לזה מה שלא הוסיף ואפשר גם גרע במשך זמן זה מהקביעות עתים בתורתנו תורת חיים שהיא הצנור והכלים להמשכת וקבלת ברכות השי"ת בהמצטרך לאדם לא רק ברוחניות אלא גם בגשמיות, כמ"ש אם בחקותי תלכו ופרש"י שתהיו עמלים בתורה, ונתתי גשמיכם וגו' כל הברכות האמורות בפרשה, ויה"ר שיוסיף בזה וכאילו כבר המשיך ברכות השי"ת בפועל בהענינים אודותם כותב, ומובטח בורא עולם לקיים הבטחתו האמורה בכתוב הנ"ל.
