Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 18 Sivan, bringing the good news that you are disseminating Chabad* books to the fullest extent possible. You do not give details on the subject, but this is indeed the need of the moment, all the more so as we approach the end of our exile.

As you know, the Baal Shem Tov* received the answer (see note 1): "When your wellsprings spread outward." The dissemination of Chassidic* books is part of this. One must therefore strengthen and broadly develop this activity.

Our Sages say that one counsels eagerness only to those who by nature possess this quality. Consequently, if until now you have carried out this dissemination to the fullest extent possible, you must now develop it further. To that end, you yourself will underscore the necessity of studying Chassidus*, and others will do the same as well.

Such a campaign is, in itself, important and fundamental, and what has just been said (see note 2) is incumbent, in our generation, upon whoever is conscious of his duty and has had the merit of gaining knowledge of the luminary of Torah*, that is, the teaching of Chassidus*. It is certain that you have received the necessary strength to fulfill this obligation and duty.

May Hashem grant you the success to accomplish all of this without encountering obstacles, and in a proportion that will be ever broader.

As you request, I will mention your names at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us.

במענה על מכתבו מח"י סיון, בבשורה טובה שמפיץ ספרי חב"ד במדה האפשרית, ואף שאינו מפרט בזה, הרי כפי דרישת השעה, ובפרט שמתקרבים אנו לקץ גלותנו, וידוע המענה דמלכא משיחא לכשיפוצו מעינותיך חוצה, שהפצת ספרי חסידות הוא אחד הדברים בזה, מובן שצריך להתאמץ ולהוסיף בזה כהנה וכהנה, וידוע מרז"ל אין מזרזין אלא למזורזין, שאם עד עתה הפיץ במדה האפשרית צריך להתעסק גם בהגדלת המדה והוא ע"י תעמולה בעצמו וע"י אחרים בהכרח לימוד תורת החסידות וכו', ובפרט שתעמולה זו מצ"ע ג"כ הכרחית וחיונית היא, וכיון שהאמור הוטל על כל אחד ואחד מדורנו זה המכיר בחובתו וזכה להוודע ממאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות, בודאי ניתנו לו הכחות למלאות ציווי וחובה זו, והשי"ת יצליחו שיהי' בלי עכובים ובמדה גדולה הולכת וגדלה עוד יותר.
