To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Yechiel Michel Yehuda Leib (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter of 17 Sivan. May Hashem grant that you soon inform me of the continuation of the activities you describe in your letter. This continuation will be concrete and fixed. And this consistency — in time and in spirit — on the part of the organizers, will strengthen and attract those who, for now, tell themselves that they are not Chassidim*.

No doubt you will take advantage, to the fullest extent possible, of the fact that you find yourself in a new location. To the extent possible and necessary, you will influence those who are there, so that upon your return from there, at a good and fruitful time, you will maintain contact (see note 2) and you will be the channel bringing them Torah* and mitzvos*, as illuminated by the light and warmth of Chassidus*.

May Hashem grant you tremendous success, that your influence extend to your disciples, who in turn will influence others. In accordance with the well-known saying (see note 3) that we heard from my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, in the name of the Alter Rebbe*: "What a Chassidic* farbrengen* can accomplish, the angel Michael cannot accomplish."

And may this take the form, in particular, of the greatest possible number of actions carried out to strengthen and develop everything concerning it.

You will consult the Tosefta*, at the end of tractate Eduyos*, cited in the epistle of Rav Sherira Gaon* and reproduced in the Aruch*, under the entry Abaye*, as well as the Sefer HaYuchasin*, according to which one whose student has a student receives the title of Rabban* (see note 5).

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מי"ז סיון, ויה"ר שבקרוב יבשר טוב מהמשך הפעולות אודותם כותב במכתבו זה, המשך בהנוגע אל הפועל, ושיהי' באופן של קביעות וע"י שתהי' קביעות בזמן וקביעות בנפש של המארגנים תתבסס הקביעות ותמשיך אלי' גם את אלו שלעת עתה אומרים בנפשם שאינם עדיין מאנ"ש.

בודאי ינצל ככל האפשרי המצאו במקום חדש וישפיע על הנמצאים עמדו ככל האפשרי והדרוש ובאופן שגם לאחרי חזירתו משם בשעה טובה ומוצלחת יומשך הקישור שישמש צנור להחדרת התורה ומצותי' מוארים באור וחום תורת החסידות, ויה"ר שיהי' בהצלחה מופלגה והשפעתו תפעול בהמושפעים טופח ע"מ להטפיח, וע"ד פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הידוע שהשלימות הוא בלדת הנכד, שמזה מובן שעד"ז הוא בלבניך אלו התלמידים ששלימות המשפיע הוא כשיש תלמיד לתלמידו, ולהעיר מהתוספתא עדיות בסופה הובא באגרת דרב שרירא גאון, נעתקה בערוך מע' אביי. ס' יוחסין, דכשיש תלמיד לתלמידו קורין לו רבן.
