Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letters of 15 and 22 Sivan. You discuss the sending of documents (see note 2) for two additional students (see note 3). One must first consider what positive impact this will have for the others and for those who will come here themselves.

The same applies to the student who came to visit for the festival of Shavuos*. I would like to know whether, upon his return, he delivered a Chassidic* discourse (see note 4), whether he organized a Chassidic* gathering. Very simply, did the consequences of his trip justify its cost?

It is clear that one must choose, on this basis, the type of those who come here, and present this condition (see note 5) to them from the outset. Of course, one cannot expect the same from everyone, for "their opinions differ" (see note 6), and in the words of the Alter Rebbe*: "The intellect of one is not moved to wonder and arousal by the same idea as that of another." The common denominator for all must be the benefit (see note 7) for oneself and for others. I await the details you will provide on this subject.

Regarding the documents that concern you personally, these have been forwarded to the office.

With my blessing for a fruitful summer and for preparing properly for the festival of liberation (see note 8) of Yud-Beis* and Yud-Gimmel Tammuz*, which approaches,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מט"ו וכ"ב סיון, ובמ"ש אודות שילוח ניירות בשביל עוד שני תלמידים. הנה מראש צריך לשער התועלת להזולת ואצ"ל התועלת לעצמם של הנוסעים לכאן, וכמו... שביקר כאן בחג השבועות, ואתענין לדעת אם חזר דא"ח בחזירתו וערך התועדות וכו' ובאותיות פשוטות, אם זה שנתוסף לו בביקורו האט דאס אויסגעשלאגען די הוצאות. ומובן שעפ"ז צריך לבחור מהות הנוסעים לכאן וגם להתנות עמהם מלכתחלה, אף שמובן גם כן שאין לתבוע דאס זעלבע בא אלעמען שאין דיעותיהם שוות וכלשון רבנו הזקן שאין שכל אדם זה מתפעל ומתעורר ממה שמתפעל ומתעורר שכל חבירו, אבל הצד השוה בכולם שצריכה להיות תועלת לעצמו ותועלת להזולת, ואחכה ממנו לידיעות בזה.

בהנוגע להניירות שלו, הנה נמסר להמשרד.
