To the attention of the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, devotes himself to communal needs, of generous conduct, of illustrious lineage,

I greet you and bless you.

I am following up on our discussion, when you were here, about the great benefit that can be expected from the visit to the Holy Land of those who are here our students. This initiative was strengthened within me because of the event that unfortunately occurred at Kfar Chabad (see note 2). Such a visit has therefore become indispensable, in order to strengthen and encourage the Chassidim of the Kfar and all the Chassidim in general. I asked the Rav, great scholar and Chassid, Rav Shlomo Yosef Zevin (see note 3) to discuss this with you.

I therefore have the pleasure of informing you that approximately ten yeshivah* students — emissaries of the Chassidim and my representatives — have departed from here. On the way, they will visit several countries for a few days, and they will arrive at Lod, with the help of Hashem, on the eve of Shabbos*, the 5th of Menachem Av.

Here, the financial pressures are particularly significant. Despite this, hoping that our conversation would bear fruit, I borrowed the amount of these travelers' expenses on this account.

I learned with pleasure from the distinguished Rav and Chassid, R. Shlomo Yosef (see note 4), that he asked you about this and that you responded that you were seeking a means of financing the lodging costs and half of the travel costs. I hope you will endeavor to cover the other costs as well, with the exception of a symbolic contribution to this cost from the travelers and from myself. And all of this will have a positive outcome.

Shortly before this journey, we reprinted the Siddur Tehillas Hashem*, according to the Nusach Ari*, in pocket format, with several additions and improvements. I see this as a good sign. I take particular pleasure in sending you one of these Siddurim.

בהמשך לשיחתנו בהיות כ' כאן בענין התועלת הרבה הצפוי' מביקור תלמידינו מכאן באה"ק ת"ו, ונתחזק אצלי הרעיון בקשר עם המאורע ל"ע ול"ע בכפר חב"ד אשר ביקורם נעשה הכרחי כדי להביא התחזקות ועידוד ברוח אנ"ש שי' בכפר וכללות אנ"ש שי', וכפי שבקשתי את הרב הגאון והרה"ח וכו' וכו' הרש"י שי' זוין לדבר את כ' בזה.

הנני להודיע לכ' בנועם אשר יצאו מכאן עשרה מהתלמידים התמימים שי' בתור שלוחי אנ"ש ובאי-כחי, ואחרי שיעשו איזה ימים בביקורם במדינות שונות בדרכם, יגיעו אי"ה ללוד בעש"ק ה' מנ"א.

והגם אשר הלחץ הכספי כאן גדול ביותר, אבל בתקוה אשר שיחתנו תעשה פרי לויתי על חשבון זה את הכסף להוצאות הנוסעים.

ושמחתי להידיעה מהרה"ג והרה"ח וכו' וכו' הרש"י שי' אשר דיבר את כ' בענין זה ואמר שמחפש מקור להשיג הוצאות האש"ל וחצי הוצאות הנסיעה, ותקותי אשר גם שאר ההוצאות ישתדל להשיג והענין יבוא לגמר טוב (מלבד השתתפות סמלית, בהוצאות נסיעה זו, של הנוסעים עצמם ושלי)

בסמיכות להנסיעה הדפסנו מחדש סדור תהלת ה' נוסח האריז"ל בפורמאט כיס עם כמה הוספות ושכלולים, שרואה אני בזה סימן טוב, והנני שולח לו סדור זה בקורת-רוח מיוחדת.

בכבוד ובברכה לבריאות ולהצלחה.
