To the leaders of the Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* Lubavitch network in our Holy Land, may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you.

A) I have not received detailed news from you, but I hope that the summer camp is progressing to the fullest extent possible. It appears, indeed, that you began with delay.

You know the following teaching of our Sages* in this regard, cited by the Alter Rebbe* in chapter 9 of Iggeres HaTeshuvah*: "If one used to study one page (see note 1), one should study two (see note 2)." The effort to organize all of this must therefore be double compared to the current situation and to what should have been done some time ago.

I await detailed news on this matter.

B) I did not specify to the committee of the Kfar* (see note 3) — so obvious is it — that it should provide the greatest possible assistance to this summer camp, for this is in its interest just as much as in that of the camp's participants, and perhaps even more so.

I therefore come to emphasize all of this even more clearly (see note 4), although these words are addressed to the leaders of the Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak network (see note 5), but they will know how to faithfully transmit these words to the committee of the Kfar. It is certain that the latter will provide the most considerable assistance.

Even if certain projects for the Kfar can only be carried out by neglecting this camp (see note 6), you must nevertheless know that a mitzvah* with a specific time overrides various other activities. Now, this is precisely the case here. This camp is timely, for its participants will subsequently disperse to various locations. It is therefore particularly important that it be truly perfect in all respects.

The assistance discussed here comes from the committee of the Kfar. But how much more must it also come from the members of the network's leadership, from all the schools of Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak, from all the male and female teachers. Each one must act in this direction and set an example for others. And if, for whatever reason, some do not wish to contribute, I have good hope that upon receiving this letter, they will themselves adopt the conduct described above, as defined by the Alter Rebbe in Iggeres HaTeshuvah (see note 7).

C) For the time being, I have not yet received news regarding the program that will enable you to make use of the vacation period, and the organization you have put in place so that, several times during these weeks, you meet the students or make contact with them in the appropriate manner.

In this regard, perhaps it would be good to take advantage of the stay in the Holy Land of the emissaries (see note 8), may Hashem grant them long life.

With my blessing for good news and considerable success in all of this.

תקותי אף שאין מהם עדיין ידיעות מפורטות שענין הקייטנא מתקדם ככל הדרוש, וכיון שכנראה התחילו באיחור זמן, ידוע דבר הוראת רז"ל בכגון דא, הועתק ע"י רבנו הזקן באגה"ת פרק ט', הי' רגיל לקרות דף אחד יקרא ב' דפים כו', זאת אומרת שההשתדלות בסידור הנ"ל צריכה להיות בכפלים השתדלות הנדרשת מפני הענינים עתה והשתדלות שצריכה היתה להעשות לפני זמן, ואחכה לידיעות מפורטות בזה.

ב) אף שלרוב פשיטות הדבר לא כתבתי לועד הכפר שיסייעו בענין הקייטנא ביותר וביותר כי טובתם היא לא פחות מאשר טובת אורחי הקייטנא ואפשר עוד יותר, הנה ליתר שאת בא הנני בזה, אף שכתובים הדברים להנהלת הרשת אהלי"י נאמנים הם למסור דברי כצורתם לועד הכפר, ובבטחה האמורה לסיוע הכי גדול מצדם, ואם אפילו ישנם עניני הכפר שלכאורה אי אפשר להוציאם לפועל כ"א על חשבון גרעון בהקייטנא, כבר ידוע אשר מצוה שעובר זמנה דוחה כמה ענינים, וגם בנדון זה כן הוא שהקייטנא ענין שהזמן גרמא, ומפני שאורחי הקייטנא מתפזרים אח"כ לכו"כ מקומות, חשיבות מיוחדה להשלימות הכי גדולה בכל פרטי'.

ואם בהנוגע לועד הכפר הדברים אודות סיוע אמורים, עאכו"כ לכל חברי הנהלת הרשת, לכל בתי הספר אהלי"י ולסגל המורים-ות שצריכים לעשות בזה להראות דוגמא לכל השאר, ואם אפילו מאיזה סיבה שתהי' אחדים מהם לא השתתפו בכל הדרוש, תקותי שבהתקבל מכתבי זה יתעסקו גם הם וע"ד הנ"ל כמ"ש רבנו הזקן באגה"ת הנ"ל...

ד) לע"ע לא קבלתי כל ידיעות מתכנית ניצול ימי החופש וסידור שעכ"פ איזה פעמים יפגשו עם התלמידים-ות במשך שבועות אלו או יעמדו אתם בקשר באופן המתאים, ואפשר כדאי לנצל לכגון דא גם שהותם של השלוחים שליט"א באה"ק ת"ו.

בברכה לבשו"ט ולהצלחה מופלגה בכל הענינים.
