To our friend, remarkable young man, the Rav Menachem Zeev Gringlass, Montreal,
I greet you and bless you,
I respond to your letters of the 12th and 16th of Tevet, as well as the two postcards.
A) Rav Pastinski is a rabbi of Vancouver, who is close to the Lubavitch movement and supports its Yeshivah*. It is therefore good that you contact him.
B) I thank you for your efforts for the dissemination of the conversations with the young. We are going to stop reproducing them by mimeograph in order to have them printed. The first time, several preparations were necessary and the publication was therefore delayed, but it should come out next week and we will then send you the number of copies you requested.
C) We will write, with the help of Hashem, to Rav Kamenitski, to Barenhols, to Kahanovitch and to the Talmud Torah* of Toronto.
D) Concerning the girls' school, everything must be done so that it is founded in your city. This was explained in detail in the letter addressed to all [1], of which you will surely take note.
E) We have sent you, this very day, 250 copies of the call issued by the Rebbe Shlita for the fast day [2], which has just been published with an English translation.
F) We have sent to Mr. Wolofski a report on the achievements of the Merkaz Leinyonei Chinuch. We asked him to disseminate it in the Necher [3]. No doubt it would be good for you yourself to encourage him to do so.
G) I have received your check and I have distributed it in accordance with your instructions.
H) It is no doubt unnecessary to explain to you the importance of the Maamad* [4], about which you have already written to me. I am surprised that you do not speak of it in your letters.

לאחר הפסק ארוך הגיע מכתבו ממוצש״ק ,בו כותב אודות המצב
בעסק ,ודואג כיצד ייראה הסך־הכל של השנה.
בטח מיותר להאריך אודות הענין של מדת הבטחון ,שהכוונה אינה
להסתפק בלימוד בספרים ,אלא הכוונה היא בפועל ממש ,שכאשר מגיע
רגע שאינו כפי שרוצים שיהי׳ ,להיות חזקים בבטחון שאיו זה אלא
משהו חולף ,וכלשון הכתוב כי מנסה ה׳ אלוקיכם אתכם ,וכאשר השי״ת
רואה שעמדו בנסיון ,או-אז רואים גם בעיני בשר שזה הי׳ לא יותר
מאשר נסיון ,היינו דבר מעלים שאין בו ממש ,ומהעצות כדי לזרז שיראו
שהפרנסה עתידה להשתפר ,היא להוסיף בעניני צדקה ,וגם צריך שזוגתו
תחי׳ מכספה שהיא נותנת לצדקה ,גם היא תוסיף בזה ,בתור הוספה לכך
שהיא בטח שומרת על המנהג הטוב של בנות ישראל הכשרות לתת
לצדקה בכל פעם לפני הדלקת הנרות בערב שבת ובערב יום טוב.

בעלה שי׳ כותב לי ,שתודה להשם יתברך היא כבר בסוף החודש
השמיני להריונה ,ברצוני לאחל ,שהכל יהי׳ כשורה ובנקל ותלד בעתו ילד
חי ובריא כשורה ובקל.
ובטח יודעת וגם עושה כן ,על פי מנהג בנות ישראל הכשרות לתת
לצדקה בכל פעם לפני הדלקת הנרות ,ובקשר למצבה כעת ,וגם בעסק,
עצת חכמינו ז״ל היא להוסיף בענינים של צדקה בכלל ולפני הדלקת
הנרות בפרט ,והרי השם יתברך הבטיח שלא זו בלבד שעי״ז לא יחסר
בקופה ,אלא עוד יתוסף.
בברכה לבשורות טובות בכל האמור לעיל.

השני׳ ויקטין את השכירות .אם זה יושג בקלות ,תוכלו לעשות זאת ,אבל
אם יש צורך לנקוט השתדלות ויגיעה יתירה ,לא כדאי כל העניו,
והסיכום של השנה יהי׳ טוב ומה שחשוב עוד יותר -שהפרנסה תנוצל
לדברים בריאים ושמחים.
