To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Meir (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

After a long silence, I have received your letter, which was undated. I have read in it with pleasure that a Chassidus* class has been established, and that several yeshivah* students participate in it. Obviously, they are not as numerous as they could have been. Nevertheless, I have good hope that you and the chassidim* in your surroundings are directing your efforts toward this.

Someone who studies, a yeshivah* student, does not yet participate in the world of falsehood. It is therefore all the more important to instill in him the fear of Hashem and the love of Hashem (see note 2). And how does one acquire these values? By studying Chassidus*, by adopting its customs and practices — this is self-evident.

Those you mention will be cited, at an auspicious time, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us.

P.S.: Surely you are preparing the appropriate program to make proper use of the luminous days of the 10th and 19th of Kislev* (see note 3), and of Chanukah*.

לאחרי שתיקתו הארוכה נתקבל מכתבו - בלי הוראת זמן הכתיבה - ונעם לי לקרות בו ע"ד קביעות שיעור לימוד דא"ח, ואשר נצטרפו אליהם איזה מתלמידי הישיבה, ואף שפשוט שאין מספרם כפי שצריך להיות, בכל זה תקותי אשר הוא ואנ"ש שבסביבתו ישתדלו גם בזה, והרי אברך ותלמיד ישיבה אינו מעורב לע"ע בעניני עלמא דשיקרא, ולכן חשוב עוד יותר להחדירו רוח יראת שמים ואהבתו ית', אשר כיצד הדרך שיבוא לזה, הוא ע"י לימוד תורת החסידות והליכה בהדרכותי' ומנהגי', וק"ל.

בעת רצון יזכירו את כל אלה שכותב אודותם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.
