Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 21 Cheshvan*, in which you tell me that you have been in the Holy Land for some time and that you earn your livelihood there. On the other hand, you have not yet been able to marry, although you have been in the country for four years and have made multiple efforts in this domain.

In general, when one does not find the appropriate match despite genuine efforts, it is because one is seeking in the young woman what is entirely accessory. In this way, one forgets that perfection does not exist within Creation, including in a young man or young woman.

There is reason to think that this is indeed the case for you. Devote yourself therefore solely to what is essential, or at most to what comes just after the essential, but not to what is entirely insignificant. Then the Creator of the world, Who directs it, will find you a good match.

You are in the "land upon which the eyes of Hashem are always turned, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year." And one can concretely observe that it is there that those who have found nothing elsewhere go to marry. In my opinion, there is therefore no reason for you to go elsewhere in order to seek a match.

Surely you know the three daily studies that concern everyone, established by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us. These pertain to the Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya*. You will adopt them, at least from now on.

You begin your letter by telling me that you had a connection with my father-in-law, the Rebbe. I therefore have good hope that you maintain this connection through a fixed study of Chassidus* and by participating in the gatherings of chassidim*.

May Hashem grant you success in all that has been stated.

במענה על מכתבו מכ"א חשון, בו כותב אשר זה מזמן שנמצא באה"ק ת"ו ונסתדר גם בפרנסה; אבל לע"ע לא עלה בידו למצוא את זיווגו המתאים, אף שכבר ארבע שנים שנמצא באה"ק ת"ו ולמרות מאמציו הכבירים.

והבה ברובא דרובא, הסיבה לאי מציאות שידוך המתאים אף שבאמת משתדלים בזה, הוא מפני שמדקדקים על הטפל דטפל בהמדוברת ושוכחים בעת מעשה אשר אין שלימות בבריאה, וגם המדובר והמדוברת בכלל זה, וקרוב הדבר אשר גם בנדון דידי' זוהי הסיבה, ולכן אם יתבונן רק בהעיקר ולכל היותר בהטפל דעיקר אבל לא על ענינים שאינם נוגעים כלל וכלל, ימציא לו בורא עולם ומנהיגו זיווגו המתאים.

וכיון שנמצא בארץ אשר עיני ה"א בה מראשית השנה ועד אחרית שנה, ורואים במוחש שאדרבה לשם עולים לחפש זיווגים אלה שבמקום אחר לא מצאו אותו, לכן לדעתי אין מקום לסברא שיסע הוא ל... לחפש זיווגים.

בטח יודע משלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר

זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע בחומש תהלים ותניא, וישמור אותם עכ"פ מכאן ולהבא.

תקותי שכיון שמתחיל כתיבתו שהי' לו קשר עם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, ממשיך התקשרותו זו ע"י שיעורים קבועים בלימוד החסידות והשתתפותו בהתועדויות אנ"ש, והשי"ת יצליחו בכל האמור.
