Greetings and blessings,

I extend my respects and blessing to you on the occasion of your birthday. May the Psalm you are beginning to recite (see note 2) be fulfilled in you: "I will reach the attributes of severity… until old age and advanced years," according to the interpretation given by the Shocher Tov*, which applies its terms to the end of the exile: "You will liberate me, once again, from exile," and then: "I will rejoice for You with a harp, O Holy One of Yisrael*." You will consult the Mitteler Rebbe's* commentary on the Mishnah*, latest edition, chapter 126.

P.S.: I have just received the supplementary fascicle of the Encyclopedia (see note 3), volume 1, and I thank you very much for it. It is surely unnecessary to remind you, as well as all the chassidim*, of the necessity to take advantage, to the greatest extent possible, of the festival of liberation of Yud-Tes Kislev* that is approaching. May Hashem grant you success in all respects.

I had the opportunity to procure the responsa Kol Mevaser. According to chapter 48 of this work, it seems that the Grya also prohibits the profits one can make with these ships (see note 4). It would be good to procure the fascicle he mentions.

It is almost certain that if you were to organize the appropriate celebration on the occasion of your seventieth birthday, one would hear there words of encouragement regarding the fear of Hashem, Torah*, mitzvos*, and Chassidus*. All of this would be timely, given the current situation (see note 5) and the proximity of Chanukah*.

נזדמן לי שו"ת קול מבשר. וכנראה בסי' מ"ח שם - הי' הגריא"ה שי' מחמיר אז אפילו בהרווחים מספינות כו'!! וכדאי הי' להשיג הקונטרס המוזכר שם...

קרוב לודאי שבאם היתה מסיבה מתאימה ליום הולדת השבעים (להעיר מל' התויו"ט ספ"ק דברכות במעלת ע' שנה. (ועייג"כ לקוטי הש"ס להאריז"ל שם) היו נשמעים בה דברי התעוררות ליר"ש לתומ"צ ולדא"ח, והרי הזמ"ג דמצב הכללי ודימי חנוכה.
