To the great Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Hillel (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

Various texts, in particular the Iggeres HaKodesh* of the Alter Rebbe*, at the end of chapter 7, explain that each Nefesh* (see note 2), each Ruach* (see note 3), and each Neshamah* (see note 4) possesses a specific mitzvah* that must be the object of particular attention and effort, far surpassing the care devoted to all other mitzvos*.

For a chassid*, or for a person who comes from a chassidic* family, that mitzvah* is the dissemination of the wellsprings (see note 5), for which our masters — the heads and minds of all the chassidim* — gave of themselves, as explained in the second chapter of the Tanya*.

Surely you yourself will adopt the conduct advocated by the Iggeres HaKodesh* and devote yourself to this dissemination. This will hasten the success of your personal concerns, for such is the property of the specific mitzvah* previously described.

May the merit of this day contribute to it, since it is the day of the joy connected to the liberation of the Mitteler Rebbe*. This merit will protect each person within all of Yisrael*, so as to spread the wellsprings everywhere, so that they reach even the most distant places and even those that are lost — for the one whose joy we celebrate was distinguished by his expansiveness and liberality.

Indeed, our masters relate that the Alter Rebbe*, the Mitteler Rebbe*, and the Tzemach Tzedek* correspond to the Sefiros* of Chochmah*, intellectual discovery; Binah*, reasoned analysis (see note 6); and Daas*, deeply felt synthesis.

... וע"פ המבואר בכ"מ ומהם באגרת הקדש לרבנו הזקן סוף סי' ז', שלכל הנפשות הרוחות והנשמות ישנה מצוה מיוחדת שבה צריכה העדפה וזהירות וזריזות יתירה ביתר שאת ויתר עז כפולה ומכופלת למעלה מעלה מזהירות שאר המצות, הנה בכל אחד מאנ"ש ומגזע אנ"ש הוא הענין דהפצת המעינות אשר רבותינו נשיאנו שהם בבחי' ראש ומוחין דכל אנ"ש (ראה תניא פרק ב') מסרו נפשם על זה - הנה בטח גם הוא יתנהג כהאמור באגרת הקדש זו בהפצה זו, וגם זה ימהר כל עניניו הפרטים, שזהו מסגולת מצוה פרטית האמורה.

ויה"ר שגם זכות יום זה יגרום, שהוא שמחת הגאולה של כ"ק אדמו"ר האמצעי, להגן על כאו"א בתכ"י להפצת המעינות בכל מקום עד שיגיעו גם להנדחים ואפילו להאובדים מתאים לענינו של בעל השמחה התרחבות והתפשטות וכידוע מכ"ק נשיאינו רבותנו, אשר אדמו"ר הזקן, אדמו"ר האמצעי ואדמו"ר הצמח צדק, הן בבחי' ספירת החכמה, ספירת הבינה, וספירת הדעת.
