To the great Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and bears a sacred mission,
Rav Yitzchak (see note 1),
Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter, in which you ask me where you can find explanations or supplements to the chassidic* discourse of the Rebbe (see note 2) that appears in the Torah Or*, at the end of Parshas* Chayei Sarah.
I am surprised by this question, for already two years ago (see note 3), a commentary of the Tzemach Tzedek* on a large portion of this chassidic* discourse was printed at the end of the Torah Or*, in the Kehot edition. In fact, at the end of that edition, I also indicated references, for the most part to chassidic* discourses in the Torah Or* or other Chassidic texts that comment upon them.
Perhaps you used the terms that conclude your letter only in a humorous manner. Nevertheless, I thought it right to make a remark on this subject. You write that in various matters concerning the soul, delay is comparable to a rejection (see note 4). You emphasize that this applies to the soul.
In my opinion, this is not accurate — quite the contrary, as established by the Halachah* of the revealed dimension of the Torah*, according to which there is no rejection for anything that concerns living beings. This is not the case, however, for what is not living. And one can find further correspondences to this in the laws of the revealed dimension of the Torah* (see note 5). In any event, regarding concrete action, I am responding to your letter without delay, in accordance with your request.
I extend my blessing that the merit of the one whose joy we celebrate (see note 6) protect each person within all of Yisrael*, so as to spread the wellsprings (see note 7) everywhere, until they reach those who are for now "cast off" and even those who are "lost" (see note 8). For the one whose joy we celebrate was characterized by his expansiveness and liberality. As is known, our holy masters noted that the Alter Rebbe*, the Mitteler Rebbe*, and the Tzemach Tzedek* correspond to the Sefiros* of Chochmah*, intellectual discovery; Binah*, reasoned analysis; and Daas*, deeply felt synthesis.
With blessing on the occasion of the festival,
