To the great Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Elazar Aryeh (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

You inform me that you are organizing a Melaveh Malkah*, the meal of David the King, Moshiach*, at the conclusion of the upcoming Shabbos* (see note 2).

These days of the month of Kislev* are propitious and favorable for this. It is a month of miracles, comprising the days of Chanukah*, the completion of the construction of the Sanctuary, and the foundation of the Second Beis HaMikdash* — revealing and bringing to light what transpired "in those days, at this time."

You know the commentary of the Arizal* on the verse: "These days are commemorated and relived," according to which each year, at this period, when one commemorates what occurred, the event takes place anew, as the first time.

Many Jews will gather, and "every time ten Jews assemble, the Divine Presence is revealed." Moreover, this is the meal of David, King of Yisrael*, who lives forever. All will therefore be inspired to intensify their engagement in our Torah*, the Torah* of life, and its mitzvos*. This inspiration will continue through the coming days, which arrive for peace.

הנה מוכשרים ומסוגלים הימים דחודש כסלו, הוא חודש הנסים וימי חנוכה וגמר מלאכת המשכן ויסודו דבית המקדש השני, להמשיך ולהשפיע מהענינים שנתרחשו בימים ההם בזמן הזה.

וכידוע פירוש האריז"ל עה"פ הימים האלה נזכרים ונעשים, אשר בכל שנה ושנה לתקופת הימים האלו כשנזכרים - אזי גם - ונעשים ונמשכים הענינים כאשר בפעם הראשונה.

ויהי רצון אשר באסיפת כו"כ מבני ישראל דאכל בי' עשרה שכינתא שריא ובסעודתא דדוד מלך ישראל חי וקים, יתעוררו בהוספה בעניני תורתנו תורת חיים ומצוותי', ותומשך ההתעוררות על הימים הבאים לקראתנו לשלום.
