To the great Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Shneur Zalman (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter, as well as the collective request for blessing and the letter that preceded it.

Your last letter conveyed good news, telling me that all the chassidim* are well, that they have all returned home (see note 2). No doubt you are also alluding to those who sent me a telegram. In fact, I am surprised that after receiving those telegrams, I have not had, until now, news of the safe return home of those who sent them. You know to what extent our holy masters complained about such strange conduct (see note 3).

Surely you took advantage of the 10th (see note 4) and Yud-Tes Kislev* (see note 5), and you will also take advantage of Chanukah* to every extent possible, in order to strengthen what concerns Kfar Chabad* and Chassidus* in general.

May Hashem grant that you have effective success — a visible and tangible good.

I send you my blessing for a luminous and radiant Chanukah*, throughout the year, and I greet all the chassidim*, to whom Hashem will grant long life, in Kfar Chabad*, where "Hashem has commanded His eternal blessing."

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו (וכן הפ"נ הכללי הקודמו), מבשר טוב אשר כל אנ"ש שלמים ובריאים וחזרו לבתיהם שלום; ובטח כוונתו גם על אותם שהבריקו אלי (ולפלא שאחרי המברק לא נתקבלה עד עתה כל ידיעה ממשלחי המברק שחזרו לבתיהם), וכבר ידוע כמה צווחו נשיאנו הק' על הנהגה מוזרה כזו.

בודאי ניצלו ימי יו"ד וי"ט כסלו, וכן ינצלו ימי חנוכה ככל הדרוש לחזק עניני כפר חב"ד ועניני החסידות בכלל, ויה"ר שיהי' בהצלחה בפועל ובטוב הנראה והנגלה.

בברכה לחנוכה מאיר ומזהיר על כל השנה כולה ובפ"ש כל אנ"ש שליט"א אשר בכפר חב"ד אשר שם צוה ה' את הברכה חיים עד העולם.
