To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,
Rav Yoshua (see note 1),
Greetings and blessings,
After an interruption, I received with pleasure your letter of this Monday, conveying good news — the chassidic* gathering (see note 2) at which those who fear Hashem exchanged words.
It is certain that in the future, these words will be reflected in actions — all the more so since, as we have heard many times from our holy masters, Yud-Tes Kislev* is the Rosh Hashanah* of Chassidus* and of the chassidic* ways. And you know why one says Rosh — the head — and not "the beginning." For the head carries within it the vitality of all the limbs of the body, which it channels to them through various conduits. And the same is true of Rosh Hashanah* and the days of the year that follows.
May Hashem grant that always and every day you convey good news to me, concerning your communal endeavors and your personal concerns, in good health and with breadth of spirit.
I enclose our latest publications. You will surely make their content available to as many people as possible. The merit of all depends upon you.

לאחרי ההפסק נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מיום השני, מבשר טוב מההתועדות אשר נדברו יראי ה' איש אל רעהו, ובודאי ישפיעו הדבורים הבפו"מ על הימים הבאים לאחריהם, ובפרט ע"פ מה ששמענו כמה פעמים מרבותנו נשיאנו הק' אשר יום הי"ט כסלו הוא הראש השנה לתורת החסידות ולדרכי החסידות, והרי מבואר דיוק לשון ראש ולא תחלה, וכמו שהראש כולל בתוכו חיות כל האברים וממנו נמשכים צנורות חיות להאברים במקומם, כן הוא בהנוגע לראש השנה וימי השנה שלאחריו, ויה"ר שתכה"י יבשר טוב בהנוגע לענינים הכללים ועניניו הפרטים מתוך בריאות והרחבת הדעת.
מוסג"פ מה שהו"ל בזמן האחרון, ובטח יזכה בתוכנו את הרבים וזכות הרבים תלוי בו.
