I received with pleasure your letter from the luminous day of Yud-Tes Kislev*, the day of our deliverance and the freedom of our souls, in which you describe the chassidic* gatherings of the past weeks. No doubt you will maintain this positive practice of writing to me to say that those who fear Hashem exchanged words.
It is certain that ultimately, words of encouragement exert their effect, for our Sages say: "Great is study that leads to action." You will strive to multiply the number of participants, drawn from ever wider circles, in accordance with the needs of the moment.
Such is indeed the teaching of the days of Chanukah*, during which one increases, from day to day, "the candle (which) is a mitzvah* and the Torah* (which) is a light," as well as the luminary of the Torah*, its inner dimension, which is described as oil, as indicated in various texts.
May Hashem grant that you be one of those who direct their efforts in this matter, to every extent possible.

נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מיום הבהיר י"ט כסלו, יום גאולתנו ופדות נפשנו, בו כותב אודות ההתועדויות בשבועות שעברו, ובודאי ימשיך במנהגו הטוב זה, לכתוב שנדברו יראי ה' איש אל רעהו וגו'. והרי ודאי שדברי ההתעוררות יפעלו סו"ס פעולתם, וכמרז"ל גדול תלמוד שמביא לידי מעשה. ובטח ישתדל להרבות מספר המשתתפים מחוגים ההולכים ומתרחבים מזמן לזמן וכדרישת השעה. והרי זוהי הוראת ימי חנוכה - שמוסיף והולך מיום ליום בענינים דנר מצוה ותורה אור ומאור שבתורה זוהי פנימיות התורה, הנקראת בשם שמן, וכמבואר בכ"מ, והשי"ת יזכהו שיהי' מהמשתדלים בזה ככל הדרוש.
