To the distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Chaim Hillel (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

After a long interruption, I received your letter of 8 Teves*, with the requests for blessing that accompanied it, which will be read at a propitious moment at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us.

You inform me of your activities and your organization for this school year (see note 2). You tell me that some additional studies have been added and that chassidic* gatherings are organized between teachers and students.

May Hashem grant that this addition be both quantitative and qualitative, that one not be satisfied with what has been accomplished, but that one add to it. Indeed, one can observe the success obtained thanks to the great compassion invoked by our holy masters, whose merit protects us.

Nevertheless, all of this is not being used as it should, nor even partially, and unfortunately this is not only the case for the Talmud Torah* schools. I mean that one should use the blessing and success that Hashem grants also in the other institutions of the chassidim*, such as Beis Rivka* or the yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*.

As you know (see note 3), my father-in-law, the Rebbe, in one of his talks while he was still living in this world, stated — alluding to the period that would follow the coming of our righteous Moshiach*: "Soon a time will come when people will slap their foreheads and say: 'We lived through such a precious moment and we did not even take advantage of it!'"

It would be good to remind this man (see note 4) that he observed the miracles that Hashem performed for him, as he himself acknowledges. He must therefore draw these miracles through the Torah* and its mitzvos*. This is how they are revealed here below and how they are perpetuated, for long days and years.

May Hashem grant that you find the right words to explain all of this to him and to obtain the desired result.

לאחר הפסקה ארוכה שמחתי לקבל את מכתבו מי״ט טבת ,עם

המצורף ,ות״ח על הכתיבה מהתוועדות י״ט כסלו יום גאולתנו ופדות נפשנו

ובטח יעשו כדבעי ליישם את ההחלטות ,ובכלל שתיראה פיצולה

מההתעוררות של ׳ראש השנה לחסידות׳ במשך השנה כולה ,כידוע לשון

כ״ק רבנו נשיאנו על י״ט כסלו ,לשנה טובה בלימוד החסידות ודרכי

החסידות תכתבו ותחתמו .ואם בכלל כן הוא ,על אחת כמה וכמה ]כן הוא[

בנוגע להחלטות והתעוררות המתקבלות בהתוועדות של כמה פעמים עשרה

שנקראים עדה קדושה ובמקום קדוש שנמצא בארץ הקדושה ,ומובן ופשוט

שכל אלה המשתדלים בעשי׳ שאחר כך בקיום ההחלטות נוטלים חלק

בראש במה שנחוץ להם בכלל שבזה נכלל גם עסקנותם לטובת הרבים

שמזה נובע המוסיף והולך ומוסיף וילכו מחיל אל חיל.

האמור לעיל מחזק גם את בטחוני שודאי עושה הוא את ההכנות

הנחוצות ליום ההילולא של כ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר יו״ד שבט הבע״ל,

ובפרט שהשנה חל הוא בשבת קדש ,השבת דקריעת ים סוף שהובילה

לשירה לד׳ כי גאה גאה והמכילה גם את הענין דהקיצו ורננו שוכני עפר

והוא בתוכם כדרשת רז״ל על הפסוק אז ישיר משה ,המובאת בפירוש

רש״י על אתר ,והרי ידוע שמנהיג בני ישראל אמיתי ורעיא מהימנא

שלהם נקרא בשם משה ,כי אתפשטותא דמשה בכל דרא ודרא.

בברכה לבשו״ט בכל האמור ,ובפ״ש כל המתוועדים בהנ״ל וכל אלו

שיתועדו ביום ההילולא יו״ד שבט הבע״ל ועל כל ישראל לטובה.
