To my close relative, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Zeev Dov (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter.

I have conveyed your wish to participate in the division of the Talmud* (see note 2) that is conducted here on the luminous day of Yud-Tes Kislev* (see note 3), the day of our deliverance and the freedom of our souls, as well as your wish to be assigned one of the tractates studied in the framework of the Daf Yomi* (see note 4).

It has already been explained, during a chassidic* gathering (see note 5), based on the commentaries of the later Sages, that those who participate in such a division are considered as if they had studied the entire Talmud* during the year.

May Hashem grant that this study be permeated with chassidic* light and warmth, just as the body of the Torah* (see note 6) is permeated by its soul (see note 7), as the Zohar* explains, volume 3, page 152a.

With my blessing of good health, to give good news, and with greetings to all the chassidim*.
