To the distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter from the conclusion of Shabbos*.

Obviously, it is painful to see how complicated it is to put into practice everything that concerns Chabad* and the dissemination of the wellsprings (see note 2). Indeed, each day has its own content (see note 3). It is particularly painful to see that the propitious days of the month of Kislev*, of Chanukah*, of the motivation currently felt among Jews in the Holy Land (see note 4), are not being seized.

If it is painful to observe this in every chassid*, how much more so when it comes to the young people of the Chabad* association, of whom more is expected, who have a greater merit, as I have written several times. But what is the point of repeating a second time, a third time, again and again?

You mention the campaign of visiting settlements. To activate it, you may announce that, without making it a vow, I will invite the chassidim* to participate, covering one-third of the expenses incurred for this purpose. As usual, it will be the last third.

I was very pleased by what you tell me about the study day organized at Kfar Chabad*, at your initiative and under your impetus. No doubt contact is maintained with those who participated, or at least with the majority of them, in order to reinforce their impressions and above all so that these are followed by concrete effect, for "the deed is essential."

May Hashem grant that here too, your initiative be crowned with success.

במענה על מכתבו ממוצש"ק. - מובן שמצערת התסבוכת בהבאה לפועל של עניני החב"ד והפצת המעיינות, כי הרי צ"ל כל יומא ויומא עביד עבידתי', ובפרט מצער כשאין מנצלים ימי סגולה וכמו חדש כסלו וחנוכה והתעוררות הכללית הנרגשת בתוככי בני ישראל אשר באה"ק ת"ו ואם בהנוגע לכאו"א מאנ"ש מצער הנ"ל עאכו"כ בהנוגע לצעירי אגו"ח שתובעים מהם יותר וזכותם גדולה יותר, וכמו שכתבתי כבר כ"פ, ומה בצע לכפול ולשלש עוד פעם ועוד פעם.

במ"ש אודות המבצע דביקור בישובים וכו' הנה בכדי לזרז הענינים, ברשותו להודיע אשר בל"נ אעורר את אנ"ש להשתתף בשליש הוצאות הקשורות בהנ"ל, אלא שכדרכי בשליש האחרון.

שמחתי במאד למה שכותב על דבר יום העיון שערכו בכפר חב"ד ביזמתו ובמרצו, ובטח ממשיכים בקישור עם אותם שהשתתפו בהעיון עכ"פ עם רובם בכדי לחזק ההתרשמות שלהם, ובעיקר שתבוא בענינים של פועל כי הרי המעשה הוא העיקר, ויה"ר שגם יזמתו בזה תצליח...
