Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of the eve of Shabbos* Parshas Shemos*. It seems that you meditate more than is fitting upon everything that you write to me.

Your approach can be compared to the interpretation that Chassidus* gives of the verse: "She will confect the head," according to which excessively deep meditation on what enables one to earn a livelihood is comparable to a garment that is too long for the one who wears it. Not only is the excess portion of no use, but moreover, it hinders walking.

You mention your lawyer, and surely he is competent. You will therefore follow his recommendations and serve Hashem with joy, with the conviction that He grants His Providence to you and to the members of your family, within all of Israel.

Hashem is the Essence of good. He naturally seeks to do good, and you will therefore observe, in everything that concerns you, visible and tangible good.

In recent weeks, you have surely sought to disseminate Judaism in general and Chassidus in particular, among your friends, wherever they may be, and in your surroundings. I hope that you still maintain a correspondence with them, in order to encourage them to practice the mitzvos*, to fix a time for studying Torah, each according to his situation.

The Guardian of Israel neither sleeps nor slumbers. He nourishes everyone with kindness, grace, and mercy. He will lead you and yours toward what is good for you, materially and spiritually alike.

במענה על מכתבו מועש"ק שמות, וכנראה אשר מתבונן יותר על המדה בהענינים אודותם כותב והוא ע"ד המבואר בחסידות על הכתוב ועשתה את ראשה, אשר ההתבוננות יותר על המדה בעניני הפרנסה הוא בדוגמת לבוש ארוך יותר ממדת הלובשו, שלא לבד שאין בהאריכות תועלת אלא שעוד מפריע בהילוך כדבעי, ולכן כיון שמזכיר אודות עו"ד שלו שבודאי מומחה הוא יתנהג כהוראתו ויעבוד את השם בשמחה ובבטחון גמור אשר משגיח הוא עליו ועל כל ב"ב שי' בתכ"י בהשגחה פרטית, והרי השי"ת הוא עצם הטוב שמטבע הטוב להיטיב ויומשך בעניניו בטוב הנראה והנגלה.

בודאי עסק גם בשבועות האחרונים בהפצת היהדות בכלל ובעניני חסידות בפרט בין חבריו במקומות שם הי' ובסביבתו שם, ותקותי שעומד עמהם בקישור מכתבים גם עתה לחזקם בקיום המצות וגם בקביעות עתים לתורה כל אחד מתאים למעמדו ומצבו ושומר ישראל אשר לא ינום ולא יישן וזן מפרנס לכל בחן בחסד וברחמים ינחהו ואת כל ב"ב שיחיו ובאופן הטוב לפניהם בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
