Greetings and blessings,

You tell me that a certain person has not been affected at all (see note 1). Yet you know the saying of our holy masters that it is certain that an effort is never in vain. Even if it does not yet manifest outwardly, this person has therefore surely been affected and, precisely because of this, is making an effort to hide it, to let nothing show, so that he will not be drawn still further toward the place that is truly his own (see note 2).

And from this observation, a teaching results. One must encourage this person from time to time — diplomatically, to be sure, precisely because of his apprehensions — and bring him what concerns the Torah, the mitzvos*, and even Chassidus*. Better yet, one must do so indirectly, by a roundabout way. This is self-evident.

Although you say nothing about it, surely you are endeavoring, to the fullest extent possible, to advance the interests of the Yeshivas Achei Temimim* of Rishon LeZion*.

May Hashem* grant that in this as well you know considerable success — far beyond what you are currently experiencing.

במ"ש אודות... אשר לא נגע ולא פגע, ידוע פתגם רבותנו נשיאנו הק' חזקה לתעמולה שאינה חוזרת ריקם, ובודאי אם עדיין לא ניכר בחוץ אבל בודאי שנגע ופגע, וזה עצמו מגדיל השתדלותו של הנ"ל לכסות ולהעלים שלא יראה החוצה בכדי שלא ימשיכוהו עי"ז עוד יותר ויותר למקום שם הוא שייך באמת, ומזה הוראה אשר אף כי באופן דיפלומטי (מפני יראתו של הנ"ל האמורה) יש לעוררו מזמן לזמן ומה טוב בעקיפין ומן הצד, וק"ל, על עניני התורה ומצות וגם עניני חסידות.

בודאי אף שאינו מזכיר עד"ז משתדל ככל האפשרי לטובת "אחי תמימים, אשר ברשל"צ, ויה"ר אשר גם בזה תהי' הצלחה מופלגה ועוד יותר מאשר עד עתה.
