Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter from this Friday, the eve of Shabbos*, in which you tell me that when you put on the tefillin* of the head, you are unable to determine whether they are properly placed.
You know what should be done in this matter. You must ask the person near you whether they are properly in place. The law of our holy Torah states that this is sufficient, as is the case in several other areas of the Torah.
Surely you maintain the three studies that concern everyone. These pertain to the Chumash*, the Tehillim*, the Tanya*, and are well known.
May Hashem* grant you success.

במענה על מכתבו מיום הששי עש"ק, בו כותב שכאשר מניח תפילין של ראש אינו יכול להכריע אם מונחים על מקומם הראוי.
ידועה ההנהגה בזה, שמבקשים את הנמצא אצלו שיראה אם מונחים במקומם, ופשוט דין תוה"ק שסומכין על זה, וכמו בכו"כ עניני התורה.
בטח שומר שלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש בחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים והשי"ת יצליחו.
