Greetings and blessings,

I have just received your first letter from the 5th of Shevat. It is a shame that you did not take advantage of your journey (see note 1) to carry out activities concerning Judaism in general and Chassidus* in particular, but it is useless to lament the past.

However, I am very surprised that you did not contemplate such activities. I hope that at least in the Holy Land, you will seize every opportunity, to the extent possible. Indeed, your journey here was at the cost of difficulties, veils, and obstacles. It is therefore not sufficient that only two people benefit from it, whoever they may be (see note 2). One must reach a greater number. The more there are, the better — all the more so since not everyone has the possibility of making such a journey personally.

If you meditate sincerely and truly on all of this, you will discover the methods and the means, not only to exert influence within the institution in which you carry out your sacred mission, but also in a broader framework — for example, that of the youth of the Chabad* association.

May Hashem* grant that you announce to me good tidings of all this.

זה עתה נתקבל מכתבם הראשון מיום ה' שבט וחבל אשר לא ניצלו ימי הנסיעה שלהם יותר בפעולות בעניני יהדות בכלל וחסידות ביחוד, אבל הרי אין צועקין על העבר אף שפליאה גדולה עליהם על העדר הפעולות כדבעי בהאמור, ותקותי שעכ"פ באה"ק ת"ו ינצלו את האפשרית בזה ככל הדורש, והרי נסיעתם לכאן היתה כרוכה בכמה קישוים העלמות והסתרים ופשיטא שצריכים ליהנות ממנה לא רק שני אנשים יהי' מה שיהי', אלא מספר רב יותר וכל המרבה בזה ה"ז משובח, ובפרט שהלא לא לכל אחד ישנה האפשרות לנסוע בעצמו, וכשיתבוננו בהאמור אליבא דנפשי' באמת בודאי ימצאו כמה דרכים ואופנים בזה ולא רק בהנוגע להשפעתם בהמוסד בם משרתים בקדש אלא במסגרת רחבה יותר וכמו צעירי אגו"ח והשי"ת יצליחם לבשר טוב בכל האמור.
