To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Yitzchak HaKohen* (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

After a particularly long interruption, I have received your letter from the eve of the New Year of the Trees (see note 2), in which you announce to me good news — the Chassidic gathering on the occasion of the hilula* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe (see note 3), whose merit protects us, as well as the motivation that resulted from it.

May Hashem grant that what was planted on the day of the hilula grow and bear fruit throughout the coming year, in a concrete manner, in daily existence. As the Mishnah* says, "the deed is essential." Now, the merit of all depends on you. Actions for the Torah and the mitzvos* require that one be in good physical health, as the Rambam* emphasizes at length in his Hilchos Deos*, at the beginning of chapter 4.

May Hashem therefore grant that your health and that of your wife be strengthened. Thus, you will be able to multiply good deeds, to the fullest extent possible, in accordance with the need and necessity of the moment.

You ask me for the source of the following statement of our Sages: "among them (see note 4): within each one." This is what the Shnei Luchos HaBris* and other texts say, which I cite below (see note 5).

With my blessing to convey good tidings of your dissemination of the wellsprings (see note 6) outward, in good health and with breadth of mind,

לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מערב ר"ה לאילנות, בו מבשר טוב אודות ההתועדות דיום ההילולא של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע וההתעוררות שפעלה, ויהי רצון שתביא הזריעה ביום ההילולא לצמיחה ולפירות במשך כל ימי השנה הבע"ל ובהנוגע לפועל בחיי היום יומים וכדבר משנה המעשה הוא העיקר, וכיון שזכות הרבים תלוי בו ופעולות בתורה ומצות ובפרט דרבים דורשים בריאות הגוף וכמבואר ברמב"ם הלכות דיעות ריש פרק ד' בארוכה, הנה יה"ר שתתוסף בבריאות גופא שלו ושל זוגתו ויוכל להוסיף בפעולותיו הטובות ככל הדרוש מתאים לדרישת והכרח השעה.

בשאלתו למקום מאמר רז"ל בתוכם בתוך כאו"א, נמצא הוא בשל"ה ובכ"מ כמצויין בשולי הגליון*.

בברכה לבשו"ט מהפצת המעינות חוצה מתוך בריאות והרחבת הדעת.
