Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received the lists of the Maamad* (see note 1), together with the check that was enclosed. You say nothing about what concerns you, and I deduce from this that you are well.

You surely know the account (see note 2) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, which has been mentioned on several occasions during Chassidic gatherings, according to which, when someone devotes himself to communal needs, it is good and prudent that all the expenses that result from this be covered by the treasury.

For a long time already, you have been devoting yourself to the collection of the Maamad with self-sacrifice. In keeping with this account, it would be good for the treasury to cover your lost income (see note 3), which is approximately one quarter (see note 4). You will do so starting from the list you have just sent — that is, from the month of Teves* 5717 (see note 5). For this purpose, you will find enclosed a check.

May Hashem* grant that you use it in good health, in joy — regarding health and regarding joy.

With my blessing for considerable success, and that very soon you settle in a positive manner,

N.B. You surely took advantage of the hilula* (see note 6) of the 10th of Shevat, which has just passed, for yourself and for your students.

May Hashem grant that its effect be felt throughout the entire year.

בטח שמע סיפור כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע שהוזכר איזה פעמים במשך ההתועדות, שהעוסק בצ"צ טוב ונכון גם בשביל הצרכי צבור שהקופה תשא בעול ההוצאות הקשורות עם עסק זה,

וכיון שזה כמה מזמן שעוסק במלאכת ענין המעמד באמונה, הנה ע"פ סיפור הנ"ל מהנכון וטוב וכנ"ל שהקופה תפריש שכר בטלה וכו' לערך חלק הרביעי מתחיל מרשימה זו ששלח, זאת אומרת מחדש טבת שנת תשטו"ב ומוסג"פ המחאה.
