Greetings and blessings,

To my regret, the complaints regarding the manner in which you carry out your sacred mission in the domain of education continue.

You know, however, the emphatic statements of our Sages regarding children who devote themselves to study, and the responsibility and merit that are induced by this activity.

There is, moreover, another point, which concerns the Chassidim* and the former students of the Yeshivah*. The Alter Rebbe* expresses himself, at the end of the first chapter of his laws of Torah study, in truly alarming terms. He says that in reality, a person has the capacity to devote himself to this holy activity (see note 1) only because of the assurance of our Sages that Hashem* demands only in proportion to the strength He grants (see note 2).

It follows that if, despite all of this, one receives the information that a former student of the Yeshivah does not fully sense the immense responsibility incumbent upon him by virtue of such an activity, and that this has an immediate effect (see note 3) on his class, you can understand that it is hard to believe.

לצערי הכי גדול הולכים ונמשכים התלונות על אופן התעסקותו במלאכת שמים הוא ענין החינוך... אף שידועים ומפורשים מאמרי רז"ל בהנוגע לחינוך תשב"ר, האחריות והזכות בזה, וענין נוסף בהנוגע לאנ"ש והתמימים ע"פ מ"ש רבנו הזקן בהלכות ת"ת סוף פרק ראשון דברים מבהילים ממש, אשר באמת רק הבטחת רז"ל שאינו מבקש אלא לפי כחן מניחה האפשרית לעסוק במלאכה זו הקדושה, ומזה מובן שאם לאחרי כל הנ"ל מתקבלים ידיעות אשר תמים אינו מתיחס בהרגש אחריות מלאה למלאכת שמים זו וניכר תיכף רישומו בכתתו לא יאומן כי יסופר...
