Greetings and blessings,

You make reference to your state of health, and it seems to me that I have already cited to you, in one of my letters, the well-known statement of our Sages according to which Kiddush* and Havdalah* (see note 1) have a direct impact on the clarity (see note 2) of a person's eyes.

Our Sages employ, in this regard, the expression "luminaire of the eyes," and one must conclude from this that the luminaire of the Torah — that is, its inner teaching, with all that pertains to it — possesses the same virtue and brings clarity to a person. This is self-evident.

May Hashem* grant that you give me good tidings of all this, and also of all your communal accomplishments, of visible and tangible good.
