Greetings and blessings,

I have received your letter of the eve of Shabbos* Terumah* and the one preceding it. As you request, I will mention your name near the holy resting place (Ohel*) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, so that your state of health improves and you give me good news regarding everything you write.

You say that, for the time being, no work has been offered to you. As the Kuntres U'Maayan* explains (see note 1), in order to earn a livelihood, one must forge a vessel (keli*) (see note 2). You must therefore not wait for proposals to be made to you. It is incumbent upon you to take the initiative, especially since you are the one most directly concerned.

My father-in-law, the Rebbe, related (see note 3), in the name of his grandfather, the Rebbe Maharash*, whose merit protects us, that one who is truly concerned can thereby attain a profound understanding, broad reasoning, and new concepts.

May Hashem grant you success, good health, and breadth of spirit to devote yourself to the spreading of the wellsprings (of Chassidus*) outward (see note 4).

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מעש"ק תרומה ושלפניו, וכבקשתו אזכירו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע להטבת בריאותו ולבשו"ט בכל הענינים אודותם כותב.

ומ"ש שלע"ע לא הציעו לו עבודה, - מובן שככל עניני פרנסה, הנה ע"פ המבואר בקונטרס ומעין, צריך לעשות כלי. ואין זה דרך לחכות עד שיציעו הם, אלא שצריך לבוא בהצעות מצדו וכו', ובפרט שהרי לו נוגע הענין יותר, וע"פ סיפור כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר בשם זקנו אדמו"ר מהר"ש - זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, שבענין שנוגע לאמיתתו, מגיעים לעומק השכל וסברות רחבות ולהמצאות נפלאות. והשי"ת יצליחו מתוך בריאות הנכונה והרחבת הדעת להתעסק בהפצת המעינות חוצה.
