To my dear uncle, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Ben Tzion (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your letter of 7 Adar Rishon*, in which you tell me that you are feeling better and that you are already settled in your apartment. May Hashem grant that very soon you will also be settled in earning your livelihood as you desire.

You tell me that in Eretz Yisroel* (the Holy Land), certain things can only be obtained through connections and patronage. I am certain that the Chassidim* who are there will come to your assistance, in accordance with what you ask of them. Of course, if I can intervene, I will be happy to do so. You need only let me know what needs to be obtained and what it concerns.

You make reference to the language (see note 2). Now, most immigrants have only a very approximate knowledge of it. Despite this, they manage to settle in. From what people say here, the various government offices in recent years take into account the fact that one cannot expect a new immigrant to have perfect command of the language right away. Much time is needed to achieve that.

In the country where we were previously (see note 3), one faced terrible difficulties. Despite this, the One Who feeds everyone provided for your material sustenance, as well as that of your children. There is therefore absolutely no reason to be frightened in this matter, as has been concretely verified. The more one trusts in Hashem, the more one is filled with enthusiasm, and the more easily one settles in.

I thank you for conveying the greetings of several Chassidim* (see note 4) at the end of your letter. If you think it is good to send them packages with what remains, and if this is permitted there, please communicate to me the address to which they should be sent. I will endeavor to do so.

I await good news of all this. You and your wife have observed the kindnesses of Hashem until now. May Hashem therefore grant that you encounter only good and kindness in your current location, that you settle in properly, in good health and with breadth of spirit.

I conclude by extending my respects and my blessing.

בשמחה קבלתי מכתבו מז' באד"ר, בו כותב אודות הטבת בריאותו ואשר כבר הסתדרו בדירה, ויהי רצון אשר ההסתדרות בכלל בהנוגע לעניני פרנסה תתגשם ג"כ בקרוב ממש מתאים לרצונו.

במה שכותב אשר כמה ענינים באה"ק ת"ו בכדי להשיגם צריך להזקק להיכירות ופראטעקציע, בטוחני אשר אנ"ש שם בודאי יסייעו בידו ככל אשר יציע להם, ומובן ופשוט שאם ביכולתי לעשות מה בזה אעשה בחפץ לב, ובלבד שיודיעני הפרטים למי, ואודות מה.

ומ"ש בהנוגע להשפה, בטח רוב העולים ידיעתם בשפה קלה מאד ובכל זה סו"ס מסתדרים, וכפי הנשמע כאן גם במשרדים השונים ובאחרית השנים מתחשבים עם זה שאי אפשר לעולה בזמן האחרון שתהי' לו ידיעה רחבה בשפה, שהרי זה דורש כמה זמן, ואם במדינתנו לפנים בה היו קישוים מבהילים ובכ"ז הזן ומפרנס לכל המציא הפרנסה מחיתו ומחית ביתו, בודאי שאין מקום כלל לדאגה בענין זה, וכפי שראינו במוחש, ככל שתתגדל מדת הבטחון גדל ג"כ המרץ, ובמילא מתקדמת ג"כ ההסתדרות.

ת"ח על הפ"ש מכמה אנ"ש שמזכירם בסיום מכתבו, ואם לפי דעתו רצונם ומותר ע"פ המצב שם לשלוח להם חבילות, אולי יהי' בטובו להודיעני הכתובת על שמה תושלחנה החבילות, ואשתדל לעשות בזה.

המחכה לבשו"ט בכל האמור, ויה"ר שכמו שראה הוא וזוגתו תי' חסדי השי"ת עד עתה, כן ימצאם אך טוב וחסד במקומם העכשוי להסתדרות טובה מתוך בריאות והרחבת הדעת.
