By the grace of Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,

This day is propitious, since it is Purim Katan*. Like the entirety of this month of Adar Rishon*, it comes within the scope of the directive of our Sages: "From the beginning of Adar*, one increases one's joy."

May Hashem grant that the joy of this month and these days extend throughout the entire year (see note 1). It will be a joy in accordance with the teaching of the Baal Shem Tov* and Chassidus*, a joy of the spirit and of the body, a joy inspired by material concerns and by spiritual matters, which you will experience in good health and with breadth of spirit.

In a pleasant vein, one could say that "this small one will be great" (see note 2). Purim Katan* introduces a small joy, but this joy breaks through all limits. Thus, all the children of Israel, including each one of us, will merit the fulfillment of the promise: "You shall raise the head of the children of Israel" — to bring them out of constriction and limitation, to know expansiveness in all domains.

ובצחות לשון הנוסח זה הקטן גדול יהי', הרי מפורים קטן זה שגם שמחה קטנה עלי' נאמר, שמחה פורץ גדר, יזכו כל בני ישראל וכאו"א מאתנו בכללם, לקיום היעוד תשא את ראש בני ישראל, להוציאם מן המיצר והגבול אל המרחב בכל עניניהם.
